Amy Jacobson officially joins the ranks of Chicago radio talk show hosts on March 24, when she debuts as co-host along with Big John Howell of the morning drive show on WIND-AM (560). She replaces Cisco Cotto, who earlier this year left WIND initially to co-host news/talk WLS-AM's (890) afternoon drive show with Roe Conn. But Cotto was quickly moved from the Conn show to a mid-morning berth at WLS.
On Saturday, Jacobson resigned from WLS-AM (890), where since last spring she had done news and traffic reports first for Conn and then for the station's former mid-morning hosts Mancow Muller and Pat Cassidy. For the past few weeks, she handled those same duties for Cotto, who replaced Muller and Cassidy after they were dropped from the station's talent lineup last month.
Jacobson's new role on WIND will give her an opportunity to be upfront about something she said many people don't know about her: "I'm a Republican," she said. So she thinks she will have no trouble adjusting to her new job at politically conservative WIND. The station is by no means a ratings powerhouse, but though the audience will be smaller, the job will give Jacobson more air time than she usually got doing news and traffic at WLS-AM.
The last several years have been difficult ones for Jacobson. In the summer of 2007, Jacobson, then a reporter at WMAQ-Channel 5, was caught on camera in a bikini at the home of Craig Stebic, whose wife Lisa had gone missing. Jacobson had been regularly reporting on the Stebic story. The situation cost Jacobson her job at WMAQ. She has been focusing on radio work since then.

I didn’t know she was the ditz who was caught in the bikini but she did a good job in WLS.
Too bad she didn’t stay with Cisco, I’m glad that Mancow is gone also, he just didn’t fit after Don and Roma.
Amy says she a Pubbie but she ain’t no conservative. She’s as squishy as LIB (ertarian) Howell.

Stebic is currently “a person of interest” in the disappearance of his wife, Lisa.
I’m not a particular fan of Jacobsen, but the WBBM video was edited to mislead, so “prancing around in a bikini” is not the whole story. I don’t have a dog in this fight but there are at least two sides to it.
WIND is a joke. They started out with Bennett and Ingraham but booted them (Bennett to make room for that joke of a morning show because they thought they had to have a local morning show to compete with WLS; what they’ve ended up with is pablum) and ever since that they’ve changed their syndicated line-up every six weeks. They reassigned Prager to the wee hours of the morning and preempt Hewitt every other night for college sports (not just college—at one point they were preempting him for arena football)—Hewitt and Prager (along with Bennett and Ingraham) were their best syndicated shows. Now they’ve got weaklings—Miller, Beck, Gallagher, Medved (the latter is okay except that he is far too nice and patient with liberal ranters—out of a misguided sense of being “fair” to the other side).
WLS instead has picked up Levin and they always had Rush. Hannity’s a joke, to be sure.
WIND started out strong and could have been strong as an all-syndicated station. Instead they’re still almost all syndicated but with the B-Team syndicateds. And WLS plucked off their best local host and gave back to WIND their misfit Jacobsen (that she mis-fit at WLS may not be all her fault—she obviously clashed with Ron Majers and Roe Conn but that’s not necessarily her fault).

Don’t forget, WIND recently moved Dennis Miller and makes him go head-to-head with Rush. Thanks, WIND—the one reason I listened in the morning just evaporated.
Never developed a taste for Miller, perhaps unfairly. Replacing him with Beck . . . ???

I miss Mancow on WLS. Cisco is OK but Mancow was better.
We’ll see - Little John Howell is pretty much a total jagmo since Cisco’s been gone.
It seems to me that Howell tries to intimidate callers who don’t agree with him, his anger pops out every so often. You know when he is pissed when he refers to callers as “buddy.” Cisco provided balance. With Cisco gone, it is hard to tune in to the show.
Amy Jacobsen is a shameless self-promoter who would do anything for a scoop. She was hanging around with the prime suspect in a murder case. This wasn't a one-time thing. She was dressed in a bikini. What else did she do that we don't know about?
She should be banished from the media for life.
Cisco was the right partner for Big John. Amy is not.

Totally agree with you on Miller. He needs to choose a side and stick with it. He has excellent guests on his show.
