NEWARK -- An NJ Transit police officer arrested for possession of nearly 4 pounds of marijuana in 2008 pleaded guilty today to charges of official misconduct, the state Attorney Generals Office announced.
Barrington Williams, of Irvington, already suspended from his position as a sergeant for the transit police, faces five years in jail when he is sentenced on the second-degree charge on June 16.

A spokesman for the Attorney Generals Office said. They found about 3.7 pounds of marijuana in five bags, $3,600 in cash and Williams service handgun. He was indicted by a grand jury a year later.

In pleading guilty, Williams admitted that he had the marijuana in his possession and intended to distribute it, a statement from the Attorney Generals said.

Most likely because he forgot/refused to give the right person his cut.
Or maybe he DID give his cut? Which is why only the slap on the wrist for official misconduct?
I’d usually agree with you, but not in this case. Getting this @sshole off the New Jersey public employee list will be the equivalent of about a $1.5 million “fine” due to the money taxpayers save in retirement and medical benefits, so I guess his sentence is harsh enough.
Back in my wilder days, the only folks who had better smoke than doctor’s kids were cops. (Theirs was ALWAYS primo!)
