Let me get this straight. KC has budget issues so they close 50% of schools? There was NOTHING else they could do? NOTHING? This is kind of like having money issues at home and deciding to kill one of your kids rather than disconnect the cable TV.

What would you have them do? They're facing a $50 million shortfall and the state isn't willing to cough up with any more money.

I don’t think shutting off cable TV is gonna find them $50 million dollars (this year alone).

Givent the state of “education” in KC, I don’t think this will damage too many of the “students”

KC=Middle America cesspit.

I have relatives that live in the AO - won’t go into the coty - about 40 miles is as close as they get. Shame really - KC used to be a pretty good city.

The schools are half empty (or half full depending on your point of view). They are consolidating.

The school age population has dropped dramatically over the last 50 years.
