These haunting pictures show the extent to which a man with learning difficulties suffered 17 years of torment at the hands of youths, before he collapsed and died in his garden.
A film captured on a mobile phone shows how David Askew's agitators would stand inches from his garden fence and hurl abuse at him.
On Wednesday the 64-year-old could take no more and, as he tried to protect his property, he suffered a suspected heart attack and died on the spot.

You know, why did I think this took place in England when I saw that headline, and before I read the article opening? I thought, this could be the U.S., but it sounds like England. And it was.
For whatever reason, the English seem to have the worst yobs in the world. I suppose they are reacting against the English good manners they are expected to have.

They wouldn’t have dared harass this poor man if he had been a Muslime. They’d have been thrown in jail by the PC Brits.
This is the result of the government having taken over the role of provider and educator, from parents.
This appears to be Government housing community. It is stated that the Council was preparing to *rehouse* the victim as opposed to rehousing the feral animals in prison.
It is very clear that civilization has broken down in England and it both angers & saddens my Anglo heart beyond repair.

If this weren’t a case for some vigilante justice, I don’t know what is. If I knew kids or teens in my neighborhood were taunting or torturing someone, I’d have kicked their tails when no one was looking. They’d learn a hard lesson. If more people took care of issues like this we wouldn’t end up with so many juvenile prisoners.
Appears that the “the PC Brits” use this as a way to keep the yout’s off some streets while providing them with an afternoon community activity.
UK has become a land of serfs and deluged themselves with a Politically Corrupt Euro-trash or Euro-bitch mindset.
I used to work with a dude who had been a Bobby in England, I think in London but I'm not sure. He was here in the US working, which was how I knew him, and going to school at Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK.
He told me that during his Bobby days, which would have been the late 70's to early 80's, it was common for the Bobbys to beat the hell out of yobs who were brought in for thuggish conduct like this. He objected to it, and was told that "they need it".
His answer to the other Bobbys was "No, they don't need to have the hell beaten out of them. What they need is to know The Lord." Whereupon he quit the Bobby force and came to America to study and enter the ministry.
Last I heard of him he was still working full-time for a company I won't name, and working part-time in a local prison ministry.
So far as what this has to do with this story draw your own conclusions...
Caveat: I don't mean to take up for the yobs in this story; too late for that now I suppose...
There's a group of juveniles in my folks' neighborhood right here in the U.S. who've been harrassing people for years in the same way. And they were moved in through gov't-subsidized housing, too. I agree with sodpoodle's theory.
my family and friends use to ask me why I didn't have a phone in my bedroom and other places throughout my home. I let them them know that I've replaced them with guns - any crises that doesn't require shooting can wait for me to walk downstairs...
The reality is that Muslims form bigger gangs and are not afraid to use violence. It's what wins.
I think the yobs did need to know the Lord. but, I also think a good thrashing would do some good as well. I think they needed both.
Problem is, with all those cameras, there's always someone looking.
OKS - I have family members in an area of England still comprised of small villages and rural sanctuaries; where folks have been connected for generations.
Most of England, sadly, is no longer a green and pleasant land of gentle folk with purpose and good manners. They are dying out. The churches are empty and crumbling. Couples have children before, or without, marriage. Teenagers don’t have to work to support themselves - they sponge off their parents or the dole and government housing & health care.
The Labor and Tory politicians are both to blame for what is happening in the UK. Post WWII and industrial nationalization -the government has taken from the upper and middle classes to fund the uneducated, unmotivated, unemployed and unrepentant. There was never such a class of deviants. All Englishmen used to work for a living - now too many live to not work.
NB. Those lives of quiet desperation? - the government makes it so.
You can see the impact of Britain now being in what is called the “post Christian” era. Seems clear enough to me.
I agree with you! They can’t value the Gospel without appreciating the Law and judgment for their sins.

While standing in line to checkout at Home Depot one day, I watched a five-year old throw threaten to embarrass his mother with a temper tantrum. He said something to the effect of, “I’ll lay down and scream until I get it.”
She got down face to face with him and told him that she’d bust his rear end in front of everyone if he did. She got lots of dirty looks from those standing nearby, which seemed to encourage the boy’s attitude.
Well, he went for it. And she kept her word. When she was finished, I said, “You’re a good mother,” and clapped loudly. Then a few people around me started clapping.
The proud mom smiled all the way out of the store and the little boy’s face was red with embarrassment. I bet he learned a lesson.
