U.S. Vice President Joe Biden snubbed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last night by arriving 90 minutes late to a scheduled dinner.
Mr Biden's late arrival was in response to Israel announcing 1,600 new homes will be built in disputed east Jerusalem during his visit to the region.
He sharply rebuked the Israeli step - which came just after the Palestinians agreed to a new round of indirect peace talks under U.S. mediation after a 14-month lapse.

Bibi should insist that the indirect peace meetings mediated by the U.S. will only occur if Biden is present (during the parliamentarian’s rulings on reconcilliation). Then Biden cannot overrule in the Senate.
Benjamin better wake up. He should not be shocked. I would have started dinner without the rude bastard!

In any political or intellectual contest, Bibi would eat Biden’s lunch - so, why not his dinner, too?

I had to read the article to see if they waited for him before sitting down to dinner. Too bad they just didn’t sit down at the announced time and eat.
I hope Joe apologized to the chef.
Maybe Biden’s motorcade ran over another person and they had to stop and clean up the mess.

No kidding! There is absolutely no excuse for this and between the Office of the VP and the State Department protocol offices, I’d have to think this could never occur by accident.

Perhaps we should suggest that Nurse Diesel (Cloris Leachman) of the High Anxiety movie be in charge of dinner guest protocol. She handled a late dinner guest (MONTAGUE - Harvey Korman) correctly, who then responded “Only seconds late. You’re so strict.”

The Israeli move was stupid, as Bibi acknowledges. A talented diplomat could use that to his advantage, instead Joe Biden acts like a child.
I think I’d have left him a bagel with a note that we had a grand time, too bad he was late.
Maybe he was taking advantage of the senior’s early bird special at a nearby Rachel’s Pancake House.
