I also realize that the problem with the Toyota recall is the governments involvement with GM.
You can’t trust that the goverments involvement is purely to make sure that Toyota is not doing anything illegal.
There is a definitely conflict of interest.
It’s also a reason why the government should not be in health insurance. The government needs to be the watchdog to make sure the insurance companies are doing what they claim. However, if the government gets involved with a public insurance option, there will be a conflict of interest.
