The tea party's least favorite Republicans (McCain tops the list)

The tea party movement exploded onto the political scene in 2009 as a backlash to the agenda pushed by President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats, but a little more than a year later, a POLITICO survey found tea party activists unhappy with many of the biggest names in the Republican Party.

And that could complicate GOP plans to harness the energy of the tea parties as they head into the November midterm elections with hopes of rearranging the balance of power in Washington.

In a survey of more than three dozen grass-roots tea party leaders from 29 states, the party’s 2008 presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain, was the Republican most cited as a disappointment. Asked which three national Republicans they were most unhappy with, McCain was named by 18 respondents.

Other congressional Republicans considered disappointments included moderate-leaning Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe of Maine, as well as Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger of California.

Palin is showing a serious disconnect with Conservatives by supporting McAmnesty.

Only a charismatic, reasonably principled lightweight with nice (but not necessarily long) gams as far as I am concerned.

Only if the GOP is determined to continue committing suicide. If they dump McCain and Gramnesty, or at least stand aside while they are dumped, they will certainly be stronger.

They have begun to admit that in the case of Crist, who looks like he is finished unless something unforeseen crops up.

Unfortunately Gramnesty doesn't come up for election again for quite a while, but the least they can do is discipline that idiot. Call him in, lay down the law, and discipline him if he continues to be a loose cannon.

As for McCain, I don't expect them to reject him. Just stand back and let the primary sort it out. Stop supporting that jerk.

"I hope Mrs. Palin is listening."

I hear you, but I am inclined to cut Palin some slack here. After all for whatever reason McCain did pick her for his veep spot. I know, I know, that dufus gave us Obama. But I suspect Palin's "support" for McCain is personal not political.

I am inclined to give Sarah a pass on this one.

She isn’t putting a gun to anyone’s head in Arizona, if they don’t want McLame they can throw his ass out, if they don’t, its their problem, not Sarah’s.

John McCain is a Large part of this Disaster we are experiencing and are bearing witness to the destruction of our country. His name needs stricken from Republican roles forever. Sarah Palin needs to be very careful of these dregs she is endorsing.

Just made my contribution. I guess that means I (we) will be the downfall of the Republican Party..

Hey John... name me the last great moderate Republican leader...

All they have done with their equivocation is to sell our country out in the name of moderation.

John...Moderation leads to downfall. It NEVER leads, builds or otherwise contributes to freedom.

Never.
