LONDON (AFP) – A British fertility clinic said Sunday it was raffling off a human egg this week to promote its "baby profiling" service, which it insists is legal under UK law.
The winner can select the egg donor by education, upbringing and racial background.
The London Bridge Fertility, Gynaecology and Genetics Centre said the treatment actually takes place in the United States.
Women interested in having a baby by in vitro fertilisation are invited to attend a seminar on Wednesday, which is organised by Bridge's US partner, the Genetics and IVF Institute (GIVF), based in Fairfax, Virginia.

So this is what the creation of a baby has come to. I know, I know it’s just the egg. I don’t see it as very big jump to move on to raffling off fertilized eggs or forming embryos.
Yet another disgusting way countries can raise money to pay for outrageous deficits.
That is sick. Tell me this is not the selling of human beings.
Neither do I...and, as I stated, the mere thought of this is DISGUSTING!

The same leftist mindset that so bitterly decries the (now defunct, but still misunderstood) three-fifths compromise in our Constitution will happily tell you that this is not the sale of a human, but only 1/2 of one.
Human beings are being treated as commodities - objects - to be owned, discarded, bought and sold at will. Like picking and choosing a pair of shoes or car, choosing options you like, etc.
