Any perks for the Taliban or Al Qaeda? How about Hamas? Maybe a statue dedicated to praising Hitler.

Nothing from this corrupt and evil bunch would surprise me anymore, ExTexasRedhead.

And most Americans would still be oblivious, spending their time watching American Idol, Biggest Loser, whatever... unaware what's coming down the pike towards them. Unbelievable.

Democratic leaders say health bill will pass

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/14/AR2010031402793.html?hpid=topnews

The Democrats’ strategy calls for the House to pass the Senate version of reform, followed by consideration of a package of fixes to that legislation known as a reconciliation bill. The fixes must meet specific budget requirements allowing it to be approved in the Senate with a simple majority vote.

The full House is expected to vote on both measures by week’s end, with the climactic moment coming as soon as Thursday but, more likely, Friday or Saturday, aides said.

You’re going to wait till Easter? Why? I think we’ll all need that drink well before then. :)

I believe it. The men might be willing but their leaders might not!

Obama dissing the Supreme Court may be a help if some decisions come up. Amazed Ginsberg is still hanging in there. Maybe she doesn't trust Obama either.

I missed the Republicans on national TV telling the American people that their Constitution has just been burned and thrown out in the garbage.

Actually, I think Obama will eventually dismantle the Supreme Court — in fact, our entire judicial system. And once he is installed as president for life, he can do away with congress too.

Are illegals covered? If not, maybe the Hispanic caucus wont support it and nancy wont have the votes?

“BEHAVIORAL CHANGE COMPONENT.- A behavioral change component which provides for alter ing employee lifestyles “

That’s why the Dems are pushing this — it will put a leash on all of us, with the government holding the other end of it, having full control of our lives. There will be NO individual freedom at all, to allow even personal decisions.
They will hand out our “healthy” food rations, and plan our day, when and how much to exercise, meditate, etc.

And for those who are going to chime in about how it is good for us, remember it’s NOT the government’s job to run our lives. But now of course since the government will be paying for our healthcare, they claim that will give them the right to tell individuals, how to live our lives — of course another thing that is being ignored is that the government has no money of their own, what they have is what they take away from us.

So now we all have to pay higher taxes, so the government can tell us what to eat, what to do, etc.

Mark Steyn had a great article:

WHY’S HE DOING IT?

http://www.steynonline.com/content/view/3019/

“Because government health care is not about health care, it’s about government.

Once you look at it that way, what the Dems are doing makes perfect sense. For them. “

"There are four ways in which you can spend money. You can spend your own money on yourself. When you do that, why then you really watch out what you’re doing, and you try to get the most for your money. Then you can spend your own money on somebody else. For example, I buy a birthday present for someone. Well, then I’m not so careful about the content of the present, but I’m very careful about the cost. Then, I can spend somebody else’s money on myself. And if I spend somebody else’s money on myself, then I’m sure going to have a good lunch! Finally, I can spend somebody else’s money on somebody else. And if I spend somebody else’s money on somebody else, I’m not concerned about how much it is, and I’m not concerned about what I get. And that’s government. And that’s close to 40% of our national income."

How to Cure Health Care; By Milton Friedman

Photobucket

Readers Digest Version for liberal bloggers and White House and Congressional radical Socialists who claim Conservatives and Libertarians don't have a plan. We have one, you just don't like the idea that you wouldn't control it.

1. Repeal the tax exemption for employer provided medical care.
2. Terminate Medicare and Medicaid
3. Provide every American citizen with catastrophic insurance. Major medical with a high deductible.
4. Increase the use of tax free Medical Savings Accounts.
5. Deregulate insurance so that consumers can shop for a la carte coverage across State lines.*

*The plan above was the work of Milton Friedman, a Nobel Prize in Economics winner. I know what you are thinking...he won a Nobel prize, so did algore, Barack Fitzgerald Obama, Paul "I plagiarized Keynes" Krugman, Yasser Arafat and Jimmy Carter. It means nothing.

The following is the editorial opinion of a jackass with a modem like me with a BA in Economics (that and 50 cents will buy me a NY Post). I'm not fit to shine Milton Friedmans' shoes but I just added this addendum and footnote to his ideas since he is "dead" physically. Although he is very much alive since he influenced so many people like me...

1. Employer provided healthcare is an unintended consequence of the WW2 era wage and price controls imposed by libs like FDR. You couldn't offer a talented person a higher salary so they offered healthcare coverage. It's a dinosaur.

2. I may be a libertarian free market disciple but I'm not blind to political realities. I realize that any public serpent who suggests doing away with Medicare in a town hall meeting would be sodomized by a cane and be clobbered in the head by a walker. Even Milton Friedman advocated that it be grandfathered for existing beneficiaries. If nothing is done, it will be broke anyway.

3. We would never have to hear..."people are going bankrupt because they don't have health insurance."

4. The only good idea to come out of Congress in years.

5. Why should a single healthy 24 year old man have to pay for coverage that includes OB/GYN and mammograms?

If this is not the Senate Bill they cannot use reconciliation. That only is used when a bill passed by both houses is returned to the Senate with request from the House for post passage changes. There is even some belief that reconciliation cannot be used unless the bill has been signed by POTUS.

If this has public option it's a new bill which the Senate would have to vote on without reconciliation. This stuff is starting to make what's left of my hair hurt.

KMake no judgments about them having the votes. I think there is a need to have this posted today to meet the arbitrary deadline set by Der Fuhrer. It might be that it has to be posted before the CBO will score it, or some such thing. Arms will continue to be twisted.

Of course, MSM will say they have the votes and point to this document on the web as being proof. But I would not bet they have the votes right now.

I'm not an expert on how the government works but I believe we will make good inroads in Congress in the next elections.
That would make it harder for Obama to defy both the Judicial and Legislative branches - I think. I pray!
