The pro-amnesty, open-borders groups are pouring in millions of dollars to fund an Amnesty March this Sunday on the National Mall in Washington D.C. The "March For America" is receiving support from business, religious, social and ethnic groups across the country and will help transport close to 100,000 people to the nation's capital.
Just a sampling of the groups funding this weekend's March include:
* AFL-CIO * America's Voice * American Jewish Community * Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. * Center for American Progress * Farmworker Justice * Jewish Council on Urban Affairs * Jobs for America Now * League of United American Citizens (LULAC) * National Council of La Raza * National Immigration Law Center * SEIU * UFCW * United Farm Workers * US Conference of Catholic Bishops * World Relief
Just last week, Pres. Obama met with pro-amnesty leaders at the White House and also met with Senators Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) who are working on a bi-partisan comprehensive immigration reform bill. Pro-amnesty leaders urged the President to make a move on immigration before this weekend's Amnesty March, but they came away from their talks with the President discouraged.
The central theme of Sunday's Amnesty March will be to provide citizenship for the nation's 12 million illegal aliens. It will begin with a non-denominational prayer service followed by the demonstration on the Mall between the Washington Monument and Capitol Building.
Organizers for the Amnesty March are providing transportation for marchers and have a website dedicated to helping marchers organize before Sunday. New reports estimate 700 buses will be heading to Washington this weekend.
The Quisling traitors, on parade.
Why would the Catholic Legal Immigration Network want open borders?
All socialists/commie government boot lickers!
Looks like several religious organization have gone over to the dark side.
Not unusual, portions did the same during the great wars.
How many going are unemployed, on welfare, or being paid to be there?
Because most Mexicans are Catholic and the church is benefiting. They have been very welcoming to the horde of illegals here in Atlanta.
New names for ACORN.
That’s why they’re spending millions of dollars.
Bet the funding is coming from the Rockefeller/Ford/Carnegie foundations.
They didn’t mention ICE or FBI.
Easiest way to bust the inciters is to be where they are at the same time , don’t ya know.
They see suffering and poverty and families split, and they want to do something about it. And that's all very laudable - their humanity does them honor. Unfortunately, this is not the right way to go about it.
Making 12 million illegal aliens legal, just like that, may very well normalise the situation, but it also makes a mockery of the concept of American citizenship. It stops being something that those who went before strived for, fought for, sacrificed for, and becomes the equivalent of membership of a "diners club".
Secondly, its a slap in the face to all the many LEGAL immigrants who have had to wait, and pay and suffer the tortous nuances of the US immigration service. Why did they bother?
And its very bad for the judicial system, because it sends the clear message that these immigration laws, passed by Congress, are effectively "optional". Now, if laws are optional, expect more of them to be broken.
If we’re going to keep giving citizenship to anybody that can get across the border, and we can’t control the border we might as well just set up voting booths and welfare offices in Mexico.
Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. is made up of La Raza members who have warped by Liberation Theology.
They’ll support Obama’s ‘social justice’(wealth redistribution) ideals completely yet will ignore Obamaa’s abortion stance.
Catholics In Name Only!!!
This has been going on for a century or more. *Naive* doesn't apply any longer. They know what they are doing and with whom they are involved.
Otherwise, you are entirely correct.
And Soros. Or Maurice Strong.
Or Gore.
More leftist aggitation for those who have a vested interest in Obamacare! I guess those in charge of this unholy alliance think that the timing is right for immigration amnesty.
Sounds like a good place to check Green Cards.......
This is what is behind McCain folks.
I was referring to the religious organisations as “naive”. Anyway, it might have been going on for a century, but its members havent! Every generation throws up a new batch of idealists.
Frankly, I don’t believe they do. I think they are doing this to calm down and placate the amnesty advocates and the Latino groups because they want to appear to be doing something at a time when they know there is no chance in hell amnesty is going to go anywhere. The US ambassador to Mexico told the Mexican government and media last week there would be no “reform” this year. I assume that is because it is an election year. The real danger will be next year, immediately after the new Congress is seated. Meanwhile, they will continue to have these “marches” as a way to apply pressure, and keep the Latino groups on their side.
There are not enough jobs for American citizens, what on earth makes them think the American people will allow the congress to legalize 12 to 30 million people to take even more jobs away?
Firstly, those who believe "everyone is equal" should not have any truck with the idea that some illegals are more important than American citizens, because they shouldn't be believing anyone is more important than anyone else.
Secondly, if these people experience inequality in their home countries, I'm very sorry for them, but that does not mean that Americans have to pay to redress that, because Americans are in no way completely responsible for it.
Thirdly, America is wealthy, but its wealth, and its capacity to absorb immigrants, does have a limit. That is basic math. 12 million extra people mean 6-7 million extra jobs and/or welfare payments; 3-4 million extra homes, 2-3 million extra school places; which means hundreds of thousands of extra teachers; thousands more eating places, thousands of square miles of living space; and so on and so and so on. California is already on the brink of bankruptcy.
I have spoken to hundreds of these people, in English and in Spanish, and those are their basic assumptions. Yes, they are stupid. They are the living embodiment of “the road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
Forgot to say: I think it is very important that our country put the interests and well being of American citizens first, and make their interests more important, than anyone else’s. If our government doesn’t, who will? In that sense, WE are more important than those who break our laws to come here. Similarly, I believe our legal immigration laws and policies should be based on what is good for us, what benefits us, not the immigrants. Again, if our own government doesn’t defend and look to our well being, who or what will? This is what is at the heart of “consent of the governed.”
“New reports estimate 700 buses will be heading to Washington this weekend.”
If we had the kind of money these poor ‘hiding in the shadows’ aliens have by way of La Raza, etc (tax $$$ btw)
we could hire buses too!
The pro-amnesty Quislings might be in DC at the same moment that thousands of tea-party types are there protesting the “deemed” vote.
Could get interesting.
They’re all connected.
