Wal-Mart officials are looking at security tapes after an announcement was made for "all black people'' to leave a store in South Jersey.
A man used the public-address system at the Route 42 store in Washington Township Sunday night and calmly announced: "Attention Wal-Mart customers: All black people leave the store now.''
Patricia Covington and Shelia Ellington were inside the store when it happened and told the Courier Post that customers and store employees looked stuneed when they heard it.
"In 2010, I want to know why such statements are being made because it flies in the face of what we teach them [our kids] at home, and that's tolerance for people," said Ellington.
Ellington and other customers let store management and police know they were upset.
They asked the store to use the same announcement system to apologize to customers that night, which it did.
Wal-Mart management called the incident "unacceptable," and said it's working to make sure nothing like this happens at any other stores.
Washington Township police and the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the incident as a possible bias crime.
"I can't believe it in this day and age," Covington told the paper. "Wal-Mart needs to be more responsible."
Covington and Elllington are boycotting the store.

I assert that the reason that the race card gets played so much is that we’ve trained them to use it by allowing it to “work” with a nearly 100% success rate.
Case in point. I remember a man in college that pulled it for free fries at McDonalds. He asked the little white girl clerk to give him some fries, she rang it up, and he said “no, I want you to GIVE me some fries”. When she refused, he raised hell, yelling things like “it’s because I’m black, isn’t it!” The manager came over, the man said “she won’t give me some fries because I’m black.” The manager went and got him a large fry and he went away.
Now, my question about this incident in S Jersey...
Was the store empty after the announcement?
My money’s on a set up for a lawsuit, and I ain’t even black.
Well if somebody broke into that area of Wal-Mart then I am sure there has to be some law that was broken if they were not an employee.
But it’s OK when more qualified whites are told they’re not accepted at college and universities in favor of less qualified blacks.
It’s OK when the LAPD required perfect test scores from white male applicants but women and minorities were allowed to have lower test scores.
It was OK in the 1980’s when the U.S. Navy’s Officer programs favored black and “hispanic” applicants over Caucasian males. The Navy’s definition of hispanic included not only Americans of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban or Central American ancestry, but also included Americans whose ancestors were from Spain and Portugal!

prankser should have waited for April 1. Did he say the word “skin”? Maybe he meant people with black hair, or wearing black clothes, or muslims (aren’t they dark?). Why do some people automatically assume that “black” means dark colored skin? Do they have a claim on that word?
Next, did the “black” people obey the announcement?
So silly the police should get involved. In a normal world, another prankster on a different day should announce that all yellow, red, purple, white, green people should leave the store. That should even out the score. Case closed. People are so touchy. Get over it. There are more important things to be concerned with.

LOL! This reminds me of a time when someone figured out how to dial into the 1MC on my ship when it was on the pier.

I looked at my ship, but kept walking...

It makes me wonder if there might be some way to “hack in” to the PA system by way of some wireless device and it came from a car in the parking lot? This sounds like something which could be a great episode for “The Simpsons” and Bart can progress from the prank phone calls to Moe’s Bar.

The latest update is that a bus is on the way with grief counselors, post traumatic stress experts, life coaches, and even a few hippies in the back with drums and candles. Hopefully these victims can find a place of peace. Stay strong Wal-Martians.
