AFAIK, President Obama is just lying by leaving out the details. The provision he speaks of gives a state that has “every county” declared a natural disaster special money. Not “states that have natural disasters”.
There are very few states that this will ever happen to. And the bigger states like Texas, California and probably Hawaii too (because it is spread apart) will never qualify because it is hard to imagine a disaster that would cover so much geography.
The New Louisiana Purchase is a raw deal. Obama knows it but flat lies on TV. This is really disturbing.

Obama is just spinning and trying to shut up his critics by bringing up Katrina. The aftermath of Katrina rests soley on the democrats and their corrupt governing of La. for decades. We should NEVER have conceded any ground to their lies and propaganda during that time.

I did not realize that every county in La. was declared a disaster area. If that is true then it is a total farce. Only the coastal areas of that state sustained any major damage, Mississippi counties over one hundred miles north of the coast got hurricane force winds. the eye of Katrina basically followed Interstate 59 and did not go into Louisiana.
It’s just a media game. They think that if somehow they can make us ‘worry’ about Hawaii, that it will subconsciously make us care more about ‘supporting’ Obama.
I hope it doesn’t. That place call fall into the Pacific for all I care.
The disaster “connection” just shows how invasive and expansive the healthcare bill would be. Anything that remotely touches on health related issues will be an excuse for more government control and wasteful spending.
