Germans Cringe at Hitler's Popularity in Pakistan
Der Spiegel ^ | March 17, 2010 | Hasnain Kazim

Germans are popular in India and Pakistan, but not always for the right reasons. Many in South Asia have nothing but admiration for Adolf Hitler and still associate Germany with the Third Reich. Everyday encounters with the love of all things Nazi makes German visitors cringe.

Pakistan is the opposite of Germany. The mountains are in the north, the sea is in the south, the economic problems are in the west and the east is doing well. It's not hard for a German living in Pakistan to get used to these differences, but one contrast is hard to stomach: Most people like Hitler.

I was recently at the hairdresser, an elderly man who doesn't resort to electric clippers. All he has is creaky pair of scissors, a comb, an aerosol with water. He did a neat job but I wasn't entirely happy.

I said: "I look like Hitler."

It bewilders me to see Pakistanis embracing one of the most murderous villains of the 20th Century, an antichrist by the name of Adolf Hitler, just like neo-Nazis, One World Order advocates and New Agers.

Barack Hussein Obama was adulated in the same way as Adolf Hitler, believe me.

The reason why Hitler is adulated by Pakistanis, Muslims and neo-Nazis is their common neo-pagan worship and anti-Semitism.

What do you think?

The Swastika predates Hitler. That would explain India.

It is said that Sadam Hussein and his old man were trained by members of the Third Reich.

Even so, there is a long history between Muslims and Nazism/Fascism. Good starter would be with Grand Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini....

You hit it on the head, this is most definitely rooted in their anti/-Semitism. But, many of these people are brainwashed by people like Ahmadinejad into thinking the Holocaust was made up. Who knows what these throwbacks are thinking, maybe they are more wishful of a political movement like Hitler to remove what they perceive to be “oppressors.” Hopefully the amount of Pakistanis that actually believe in Jihadism is relatively small, though I do believe this has been one of the most anti-Western populations for a very long time. Not only is Western Pakistan full of throwbacks, the country is one of the poorest in the Middle East as of course they do not have as much resources.

Remarkably, a Pew Research poll found that Pakistanis who say suicide bombing is sometimes or often justifiable has gone from 33% to 5% since 2002. Of course, the greatest sympathy for suicide bombers in the Middle East is in Palestine, at over 50% of the population. Remarkably, Nigeria of all places ranked #1 at 54%. I guess that isn’t a surprise after the Christmas attack.

Pakistani society is retarded cancer, a product of vehement pro-Islam, anti-India propaganda-based curriculum for the past 60 years. They're so brainwashed, there is no redemption for them. It ain't gonna diminish any time soon.

That said, Pakistan is not in the Middle East.

Hiler liked the Muslims because it’s a barracks religion and Muhammad was a mass killer. In turn the Muslims adore Hitler. His books always sell well in the Muzz world

Of course. Hitler made them comfortable with their own bigotry.

That is a swastik decoration celebrating Divali, the Festival of Lights in the Autumn.

The swastik in India is millenia old.

Not only among Hindus, but among Buddhists.

Your picture per se is not indicative of some Nazi enthusiast.
