"If the RNC keeps nominating ass-hats like McCain we'll have a choice to make come election time."

I swear, I'd vote for a rat just to get that rotten bastard out of office.

What the anti-Republican pinheads on this board know about politics would fit on the head of a pin.

To deny there is tension between Tea Party Activists and BOTH parties is just not realistic.

All the Tea Party is saying is, “We are no longer hostages. You broke the two party system. Politics as you used to practice it is no longer possible.”

On the left, they were already ahead of us. The Unions, Hollywood, and the Kos Kids crammed Obama down moderates throats. They had had it with DINO’s.

Now here we are. There are two conservatives political factions right now, and at LEAST four liberal ones. In my opinion, its about time. Unions and greenies, for example, really never had much in common with one another. Pro-Aborts and Union Catholics never did either.

Whatever this is, it is good. Very good. I think they ought to set RNC headquarters and that stupid club on fire and then spend some time washing out their headgear.

The country is in VERY big trouble right now.

History repeats itself, I guess the RNC is doomed. Most of America is slightly right of center and McCain was slightly right of the current ass-hat. Keep up the good strategerie and we'll be in the same place next cycle and yes we "anti-republicans" are stubborn SOBs.

Big tents are for circuses not political parties. I'd rather have complete grid-lock than a RINO in office, they seem to do more damage faster.

You are absolutely correct. State level action is the best way to proceed. (Some states better than others).

Consider adding a repeal of the interstate commerce clause and a clause prohibiting the Federal government from restricting or requiring personal economic and commercial transactions to you excellent list.

“Consider adding a repeal of the interstate commerce clause...”

I would submit it needs to be carefully controlled, but there is some good original intent in there.

‘Congress shall have power to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes.’

I think this was over-interpreted because it was originally under-written in the constitution. It should be expanded to explain its intent more fully. Ironically, the Indian Tribes suffer terribly because they have an absence of federal commercial law—they cannot invite non-Indian corporations onto their reservations, because they would operate in a legal vacuum.

“...and a clause prohibiting the Federal government from restricting or requiring personal economic and commercial transactions...”

The direct national government interference with private citizens began in earnest with the 16th (Income Tax) Amendment. If that, and the US Census were reformed to eliminate the personal interaction, as well as a database and surveillance limitation Amendment, much of the nonsense today would be eliminated.

That is, it would in effect prohibit direct taxation of individuals by the national government, as well as direct payments to individuals, other than in the form of government employee (and military) pensions.

We, everybody, need ideas of what can be done in a constitutional convention. Such ideas will be tempered in the fire of debate and argument. But such is the need, and such is the capabilities of the American public, that our common wisdom and historical hindsight, gives us the right.

we "anti-republicans"

Anti-Republicans are either idiots or liberals...frequently both.

I agree, which is why I’m glad that rabscuttle385 is doing so much opposition research on McCain. Regardless of the past, we need to work on the here-and-now.

Everyone here knows McCain must go. But rabscuttle385 isn't doing opposition research on McCain. He's cutting and pasting spam and articles from publications (including The Nation) and news services (including Reuters) in order to smear any conservative Republican politician (including Sarah Palin) who comes within 500 miles of the guy.

Pay attention Arthur.

Then, by your logic, J.D. Hayworth must not be a conservative, since I haven't smeared him yet.

“But rabscuttle385 isn’t doing opposition research on McCain.”

Rab has the best ping I’ve found yet for opposition research against McCain. If you know of a better ping, why the heck are you wasting your time bashing him when all you need to do is promote it?

“He’s cutting and pasting spam and articles from publications (including The Nation) and news services (including Reuters) in order to smear any conservative Republican politician (including Sarah Palin) who comes within 500 miles of the guy.”

No one is in complete agreement on things. I like Sarah despite her support of McCain. But that’s a battle for another day.

“Pay attention Arthur.”

Here is my advice to you — please tone it down a notch.

If someone helps me with research, I want to keep him around. That’s where my attention is focused.

"Any conservative Republican politician who comes within 500 miles of the guy" translated for drones:

"Any conservative Republican politician who comes within 500 miles of the guy in order to support him."

Logic isn't your strong suit. Stick to college-level subterfuge (not that you're any good at it, but at least it suits your id).

If I were interested in your advice I'd have asked for it.

Anyone bashing conservative Republicans such as Sarah Palin has my attention. I could not care less where yours lies.

You told me to “pay attention”. That was an invitation for mutual advice. My advice was constructive.

Now I’ll drop to your level and TELL you something: tell me who to contact for a better McCain ping list or your silence is an admission that I’m correct.

That's not what you wrote, Party Firster.

Why don't you parse your words more carefully before you start launching ad hominems at me?

Anyone bashing conservative Republicans such as Sarah Palin has my attention.

As I wrote earlier, the truth hurts, doesn't it, Chunga? (Question #1)

Just last year she said publicly (there was a FR thread sourced from The Washington Times on the matter) that she would support candidates, regardless of party affiliation, who shared her views.

And now she's supporting McCain.

Exactly how much of McCain's progressive, backstabbing, treacherous agenda does Palin support? (Question #2)

Judging by the fact that, with regards to a number of major issues, she's either parsed her words very carefully, repeated populist rhetoric, or just straight up remained silent, it's kinda hard to tell where she stands on a lot of things. But she is pretty. And she does have a nice family. And she does seem to be just an average American.

But you must remember that looks can be deceiving, and the next two elections (2010 and 2012) had better be about more than just a popularity contest or another Republican power grab because this nation is going to go the way of Greece, Argentina, and the other basket case failed States if we Americans aren't careful to elect folks who actually give a damn. Oh, and before you treat us all to your rabidly anti-Democrat sheep bleating tripe, know that the Republicans are just as much to blame for the present condition since they either refused to fight or just straight up went along with the Democrats' Big Government garbage. But hey, they were being pragmatic...and saving themselves!

Now, as for the so-called "loyalty" to McCain, where does it end? When she gets McCain re-elected, conservatives stupidly re-elect her as President, and then McCain twists her arms to support his own damnable and decidedly non-conservative vision for America? And even more, why is she choosing to be loyal to a man over loyalty to her country and to those beliefs she claims to adhere to? Isn't that a direct contradiction of the entire theme ("Country First") of the McCain-Palin campaign? (Questions #3-5)

Now, if Palin can't stand up to legitimate scrutiny and legitimate lines of questioning from her fellow conservatives (that's assuming she actually is more than just a mere politician), then what makes you so sure that she can stand up to the mud-flinging coming from the progressives? (Question #6)

And by the way, I hope you might actually take some time to provide insightful and cogent answers to these questions instead of just flinging mud...because only mindless sheep (liberal or conservative, the affiliation is irrelevant) fling mud.

I don’t blame your anger at Palin. I’m just riding this out, FRiend. My support for her is weakened, but will not end over her loyalty.

Shows how little you know about the current generation of conservatives or libertarians. We don’t identify ourselves as Republicans anymore. The RNC needs to get back to its roots or things are going to change in a way they can’t imagine.

Idiot or not they still need my/our vote, understand NOW? Keep up the name calling and keep up the same strategy, like McCain, and see where it gets us all.

We’d better get our collective $%it together and move to the right in a hurry or it’s over for all of us. Smaller government is the ONE thing we all agree on, rally on it and forget all the other crap.
