Fox: Obama's abortion executive order illegal
Fox News Channel | 3/21/10

Posted on 03/21/2010 2:31:25 PM PDT by pabianice

Per Fox legal analyst -- Obozo's executive order to get Stupak's vote unlawful; anything added to this vote changes the Senate bill and thus invalidates today's House vote.

IMHO, if Stupak wants to see if he’s getting lied to by Obamassiah, he should wait to cast his vote to see how the pro-abortion faction votes for the bill FIRST!!

If the pro-abort bunch votes YES, even after they know about Stupak and Obamassiah’s “deal” and he hasn’t even voted yet to tip the scales, HE’S BEEN HAD!!!!!!

WHere are the sane people. Why arent the reporters asking questions!!!! That is their job.

The media stopped giving a damn about the people a long time ago. When I see the media now, now I know what kind of news they see in Venezuela and Cuba. The media now are just propaganda machines for Obama

How can it invalidate it? That would be just great if a republican president could invalidate future votes on crappy Dem legislation.

Not formally but obviously its a condition indirectly connected to the bill that influences votes on the bill. This has to be completely illegal. However, it is historic and unprecedented, just what the dems love.

I was yelling at the TV, wanting Greta to ask Stupak about the problem with the "fix bill" making in through the Senate. She even commented about all the email she's received...I sincerely doubt this issue isn't mentioned a zillion times in them. But ask her how many times Joran VanDer Sloot was in the john yesterday, and I bet she'll know that.

This whole thing is against the constitution, too.

CHANGE!

A majority voted for it.

If it meant anything the Pro-abortion crowd wouldn’t vote for the bill. This is pure smoke.

So much for separation of powers. The
Executive and Legislative branches are now one. I wonder when the complete takeover of the Judicial branch will happen?

I don't think Stupak fell for anything. He was looking for an out to vote yes with his party, and the leadership provided cover for him. I heard him say that other than the abortion section of the bill, he really liked the bill and it was what he campaigned for. Well, now he has what he campaigned for.

Here is why the EO is a complete shame...POTUS can’t legally alter where Congress spends the money they appropriate. Line item veto was ruled unconstitutional for just that reason.....here from NRO is more................
The Susan B. Anthony List observation that EOs can be rescinded at the president’s whim is of course true. This particuar EO is also a nullity — presidents cannot enact laws, the Supreme Court has said they cannot impound funds that Congress allocates, and (as a friend points out) the line-item veto has been held unconstitutional, so they can’t use executive orders to strike provisions in a bill. So this anti-abortion EO is blatant chicanery: if the pro-lifers purport to be satisfied by it, they are participating in a transparent fraud and selling out the pro-life cause.
