The Myth of 45,000 Uninsured Dying Per Year
Newsbusters ^

In regards to socialized medicine - or as Keith Olbermann's selling point puts it "Medicare for all" - studies from RAND and the Employment Policies Institute do not do Democrats and Olbermann any favor.

The Employment Policies Institute found that the involuntarily uninsured were only 3 percent more likely to die over a fourteen year period, and found that people enrolled in Medicaid have a much higher mortality rate than the uninsured. As Goodman put it, "In other words, Medicaid enrollment reduces life expectancy rather than increasing it!"

How many people die year year who have insurance? A million? Two million?
So having insurance is actually worse for you than being uninsured.

This post doesn’t look like it is headed anywhere, but if anyone has kept reading, I would say that a certain number of people, covered or uncovered, die every year. Some of the uncovered will include people who die without coverage because they have religious, political, or other objection to coverage, or just don’t want it for personal reasons. Some of the deaths may have included situations coverage wouldn’t have altered. Some may have included people who were not citizens, having come here illegally and deserve consideration from Christians for Christian reasons, but the government does not operate as a Christian entity, which is so frequently obvious.
Never mind anything else; just remember this: the statistical arguments are mostly bogus unless the detailed support of the statistical can withstand scrutiny, especially scrutiny of the what was included and what was excluded from the data, and by whom, and why.

Hey I just thought of this. We are told that 50,000 people die in auto accidents and they all have insurance.

I also just read that our death rate in the US is 1%, so that’s 3,000,000 a year or 8,219 a day or 342 per hour.
