Skip to comments.Democrats Death by Suicide

The government takeover of health care will go down in history as the worst piece of legislation to emerge from a Congress held in general disdain by the American people. The only bipartisanship on the health bill was in the opposition.
Usually autopsies are reserved for after the patient has died, but in this case it is useful to get ahead of the matter. The malformed health legislation is not the only reason Democrats are facing political extinction in November, but it is one of the most dramatic. The legislative process in this country has never been so unseemly. Arm twisting, backroom deals, special privileges and potentially criminal "government jobs for votes" agreements became a normal way of doing business. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi fixated on the mantra that the Democrats' health plan is "historic," but so was the Black Plague.

One question: How many people are going to try and cross the people now in control of their healthcare?
So very true ....
The Dims committed suicide? I will pee on their graves.
If you are that much of a sissy, you deserve to be the slave you are.
I have been starting to scan the various major media outlets across the country in different states. People are really pissed off. Dems are underestimating the whole thing.
They don’t know what they have unleashed.
Greece and California are bankrupt. And these pukes gleefully add a trillion dollar entitlement to the system.
What are they thinking?
I’m going to work hard to make sure my Rep. get her ass whupped and whupped good in November. Damn commie, Obama rubberstamp.
The American people are no longer asleep. They are awake and ANGRY.
Mao made history, as did Hitler, Pol Pot, and Stalin. The Dems made history today.
Unlike most bills, even things like war resolutions, health care truly impact every single person. They will learn what this does to them, and in most cases, it taxes them, raises their rates, limits their choices, and eventually will kill them when their benefits are cut late in life. This is not a fleeting public opinion.
This article implies there will be an election in November.
Kinda like saying, 10 years ago, they won’t be Government Health Care.
WOW....how’s that working out?
When is this crap supposed to go into effect? I’m hoping I’m dead before it does.
I’m not speaking about myself, but about other people. Frankly, I think that’s the whole reason Obama and the RATs have been pressing this thing so hard.
In reply to your question.. “How many people are going to try and cross the people now in control of their healthcare?”
I’m a doctor..and the Democrats just crossed me!
If any politician who approved this came to ME for any health care!!
Well..let’s just say..it wouldn’t be a good idea on his part.
There are a lot of quitters and whiners on FR today(and have been for several years now). I get tired of hearing how it is all over but the shouting, when nothing could be further from the truth.
A whole bunch. Technically, gov't ain't in DIRECT control. They have opened a pandora's box of rules and reg's that will destroy health care. P!ssed off people are not going to take it.
I’m not saying it’s over, but it can’t be denied that there are going to be a lot more people out there hesitant to cross big brother now that they control something like healthcare.
REst assured, I’m getting prepared for a crash or rebellion, and now I’ll be shifting into overdrive.
So what do you think the doctors are going to do about it?
And when are they going to do it?
Listening to something about finances and UK debt may get downgraded soon and we are not far behind.
This is history like 9/11 was history. But this was an attack from within, which, I believe, makes it worse.
Then can you please do a post about what we do next?
With all due respect (and I have the utmost for you, sir), but I doubt even Obama’s dumb enough to believe a simple bill is going to make his wet dream become reality, and I doubt they’re going to hesitate to use their guns (eg, laws) after all the trouble they’ve put into passing it. I’m willing to bet they’ve got something up their sleeve to handle the doctors.
I burst out laughing I read that part ‘but so was the Black P:lague’ — love the Times editorials.
“Black Plague” Whoa! That’s harsh! Well deserved, but harsh.
Our opportunity is in the next two elections (2010 and 2012) -- during which the electorate endures all the costs and obtains none of the benefits.
I am of two minds about this.
The conventional wisdom tells us that an entitlement, once enacted, will never be repealed. Naturally, this is a fearful prospect, and one all conservatives must recognize.
The difference here is that there never has been an entitlement that passed with so little public support. So, this may be the wrong time to say “never.”
On the other hand, the public has a short memory — and those of us who live for politics have to remember that this is the natural state of things, as people have jobs and families and private lives to look after.
It’s possible that an ObamaCare defeat would have robbed the Tea Party movement of its signature issue and a certain amount of momentum going into the November elections.
Now, we can be assured that ObamaCare will continue to dominate nearly every news cycle, especially since most states will be mounting legal challenges.
This will help ensure an informed and motivated electorate come November.
Scratch that ... this will help ensure a royally p****d off electorate come November.
Bravo! You said what I was thinking as I have been posting. Sick and tired of defeatist and their attitudes. Same with the both parties are alike comments. Couldn’t be farther from the truth!
These writers keep forgetting about the other demonstration in D.C. today. The one Islamabama addressed on the giant “big brother” screen. I think it had something to do with immigration reform. That means amnesty for a bunch of democrat voters this November. The democrats are evil and lead by an evil “thing”. They won’t stop just because of some stupid election. It will take much more than that.
That was the whole idea for the Crim-Coms taking over and remaking our country in their own image. That is why Lenin said for true govt. control, the state must control health care.
I’m all for positive thinking. But I believe unless we admit defeat we’ll never really fight. We have to look at this as a thorough beat down. If we think “this ain’t over”...”we can do something about this”...we won’t do anything about it.
May their death be all-inclusive, deceive, and final! - see I didn’t use any four (4) letter words!
I keep telling people to either calm down or buck up. This is a representative democracy. It’s not the first time in its history that legislation has squeaked through by a narrow margin.
It hurts like hell to be on the losing side, I know. But if you did your best — phoning, faxing, emailing, protesting, contributing — you gave it your all. Now take a breather (you’ve earned it) and get ready for the next political battle: the mid-term elections.
Remember: If, as the analysts are saying, the Dems just committed mass suicide, then our jobs will be that much easier in 2010 and 2012.
To be honest, I get tired of people going all drama queen about this. There are people fighting much tougher fights all over the world. We at least go home to running water and electricity and cable TV.
Obviously .. they have nothing to think with!
Don’t you know that this is going to CUT the deficit by trillions!!!!
They did not commit suicide if this socialism takes root. They will all be given over paid government jobs that require no elections or accountability. It’s why the’re not worried about re-election. The backroom deals were the health Hitler positions they will be given and need not earn.
Obama is spending my 4 year old’s money. he will have no future-and when he mandates colege for everybody-my college degree will be worthless.
Looks like the bill will hopefully enter litigation as it encounters the 38 or so states who have lawyers lined up to fight it — all on its way to the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, we will be able to unravel it and let everyone know what the h#ll is in it.
Some 34 are working on that now.
It is also likely that individual lawsuits will be filed, by such men as Mark Levine.
We are going to make sure Obama doesn't do any more damage to the nation by stopping any more of his legislation in the Senate.
We are going to defeat the Democrats in every election we can.
This is a battle that is only beginning, we lost the first skimash.
Actually, Obama is taking out a credit card on you and every member of your family and he is racking up $40,000.000 worth of charges (per person in your home) and you won't even be able to take home a flat screen TV for the effort.
‘Bill McCollum will join Attorneys General from South Carolina, Nebraska, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Washington, North Dakota and South Dakota to file a lawsuit against the federal government.’
Exactly. Those who worry Americans will not stay angry have lost sight of this. It’s personal.
Oh, there will be one.
AGREED!! Makes you glad the Founding Fathers were made of sterner stuff, doesn’t it? And they were up against a whole British EMPIRE, for Pete’s sake!!
They are acting might sure of next November - must have finally gotten all the voting machine software set up to kick out every 4th or 5th GOP vote. Actually it will need to be more like 3/4 of the GOP votes kicked out.
Or they’re going to put census workers to work voting absentee ballots.
