Mad About Obamacare? Blame Bush
By Philip Klein on 3.21.10 @ 11:27PM

They did it.

Despite an overwhelming public backlash and the likely political ramifications, Democrats cut deals and twisted arms and got the votes they needed, winning by a 219 to 212 margin. While the reconciliation process still remains, it’s a sideshow at this point. The United States is a presidential signature away from having national health care.

Suffice it to say, as somebody who has spent the past year working to expose the devastating consequences of this legislation and who values individual liberty, this is a sad day. And I’m working on a longer piece right now for tomorrow’s site about the ongoing fight against its provisions, which just got a lot harder. But as upset as I am, I can’t pin the blame entirely on Democrats.

The reason is that by passing this bill, liberal Democrats were just doing what liberal Democrats do – raising taxes and expanding the role of government in our lives. Liberals have been working for decades to impose national health care on America. It’s been their Holy Grail. It should have been apparent to everybody that once they took over Congress and the presidency that it would be their top domestic priority. All of the leading Democratic presidential candidates proposed health care plans roughly along the lines of what passed today.

The question conservatives should be asking though, is how did we get in this position in the first place? How come, over the course of two elections, Democrats were able to take back the White House and amass substantial majorities in both chambers of Congress, allowing them to enact this sweeping legislation with no Republican votes – and huge defections in their own party?

What fight? The pubes have no spine and no voice. The lefties have won and will continue to win because the vast majority of the American people want this. They will continue to vote these morons into office so that the gov can take care of them. I hope I am proven wrong in Nov of this year but the trend has always been to the left even when pubes have been in control of office.

Does this mean, we can now find out what’s in the bill?

Bush’s fault, right?

WTF?

What does Bush have to do with this? WTF don't you blame Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, LBJ? Honestly, you pukes make me sick. Conservatives who chose NOT to vote in 2006, to teach the US a lesson are to blame. Conservatives who stayed home November 20008 are to blame. You pukes let Obama, Pelosi, Reid, et. al. off the hook. You pukes, like Obama, Rahm, Axelrod blame Bush for everything. The Company you keep tells me everything. Go to hell and stay home this November and blame Bush for that too.

The answer, of course, is that none of this would have been possible without George W. Bush -- or more broadly speaking, Bush era Republicanism.

RINO-ism did us injustice, that is for sure. However, I am going to place the blame precisely where it belongs -- on the democrats and its three illustrious leaders.

“the REAL BLAME lies with our public education”

Put the blame on the real reason. Parent’s that don’t want to be parent’s and leave it up to others to teach their children morals and values. Chasing the buck isn’t justification for leaving parenting to others.

However, the REAL BLAME lies with our public education and so-called Mainstream media.

All part of the "progressive" plan that's been simmering on the back burner since before WWII. The Russians are very patient and are world class chess players. Don't forget that Putin is a KGB alumni...

Welcome to the "end game".

GtG

Blaming Bush is juvenile. It's like blaming McCain for being a lousy candidate, which he was. But in the end, what difference did it make? Obama won and would have beat any Republican after eight years of pistol-whipping by the media and financial debacle created by Fannie and Freddie.

Bush was the most electable Republican at the time and he was better than either Gore or Kerry. He was not a nation builder and had no international agenda but, as he always said, 9-11 changed everything. He wasn't a perfect conservative but neither was he the stupid lout that the press made him out to be.

His term is over and so are its lost opportunities. Blaming him makes the media right and I, perhaps alone, refuse to buy anything the press declares about George W. Bush.

W. Bush has said that the people who will write about him and judge him have yet to be born. Wonder how they will look back upon tonight?

Balderdash.

Here we go: conservatives throwing rocks at the good guys instead of uniting to take the country back.

I said this a few months ago. The communists set us up like the master chess players they are and now we are in check.

Very soon ... Checkmate, comrade!

What a bunch of bull. Bush didn’t do this, this started way back. This was the dems wet dream for 60-70 or more years. They’ve been working for this day for decades. Is this writer in high school and his history only started in 2000? Ignoramus.
