Skip to comments.NOW, NARAL displeased with Obama-Stupak deal

The president of the National Organization for Women said her group is "incensed" about the impasse-breaking deal between President Obama and a group of anti-abortion Catholic Democrats that seems likely to allow historic health-care reform legislation to pass the House later Sunday night, saying the planned presidential executive order "breaks faith with women."
Other reproductive rights groups, as well as abortion opponents, are also displeased with the compromise.
In 2007, then-Sen. Barack Obama's presidential campaign had promised abortion-rights supporters that he would work to overturn the Hyde Amendment, which NOW President Terry O'Neill said Sunday would instead be given fresh weight by Obama's executive order.

My thought toosmoke screen!!! These people are so predictable!
Exactly, why else would planned parenthood support this bill?
Why else would Stupidpak say less than a week ago that Abortions were viewed as a cost cutting measure?
this is all phony outrage to make Obama look more “centrist”. NOW has a friend in Obama and they know it. I am sure this NOW outrage is all being orchestrated by the White House.
Don’t worry NARAL the EO was only a smokescreen.
The real story will be told on places like over at the Koz Kiddies and Moveon(into insolvency) and the like.
These broads need to keep their legs and mouths closed. A lot of issues would be solved.
Everyone with half a brain saw the “wink-wink” with this deal. Guess that explains how smart Stupidak is.
Or better yet, how stupid he thinks the voters are in his home district....what an insult to their intelligence.
Does anyone really believe this BS? What a crock. If they were so pissed off, the pro-aborts would have caused a stink. With winks and nods, we have been FUTA.
It will be and it is the death warrant of these commies. The Dark Side of the Force is going to start carrying out General Order 66.
That's besides the point. He was against it because the single-payer option wasn't in the bill. His pro-life stance is a bunch of foolish nonsense. He's not pro-life. Never has been. That's all a bunch of crap to get people who would otherwise never vote for a Democrat in their life to re-elect him.
Just wait until PETA hears what was in the deal...
Obama hasn’t signed an executive order yet, and probably won’t.
Nice job Stupid Stupak.
Let’s hope so!
Why is NARAL upset? There’s not going to be any EO. If Obama’s lips are moving, he’s lying. Stupidak....
Does anyone care what NARAL thinks. When I first read their name; I thought it was that pos group that likes little boys.
I don’t think the EO matters much at this point. The Democrats got what they wanted, Stupid’s vote was worth $726,409. Beyond that, abortions are still covered in the bill. Stupid and the rest of these “pro-lifers” on the left would know this if they had read the fricken piece of garbage in the first place. Mercy killings are covered, assisted suicides, euthanasia. They’re all covered.
They like the ones that haven't been born yet.
Sure they are....
You are right on all points BigSky!
This is silly hyperventilation. They know Obama and the bureaucracy will figure out how to make sure the abortion mills keep getting our tax dollars.
Ugh, just thinking about those guys who like little boys makes me sick.
NOW, NARAL, and the media have suppressed the truth about the true risks of abortion, which include death; breast cancer; cervical, ovarian and liver cancer; uterine perforation; cervical lacerations; complications in later pregnancies, including handicapped newborns; sterility; depression...etc.
The new, ultra efficient, cost conscious national health care system will simply consider the long-term cost of abortion to be too great.
I doubt that the politically correct halls of government will allow the death/rationing panels to be this scientific.
