"When 94 percent of Catholic House Democrats vote to kill children with your tax dollars .. then something has gone horribly wrong" --Michael Voris.
(Excerpt) Read more at youtube.com ...
So, they are Catholics who do not believe in God. Being a Democrat frees you from everything, don’t you know?
Well in any case, they have expelled themselves from the Church by their actions.
Unless the church expels them, the church doesn’t have much credibility on the issue.
Considering they are dhimmicrats the amazing thing is that it wasn’t 100%.
Question is then, what percent of Catholic House Republicans voted against killing children with our tax dollars? 100%
What percentage of protestant House dhimmicrats voted to kill children with our tax dollars? ??? don’t know.
What percentage of protestant House Republicans voted against killing children with our tax dollars? 100%
I’m not Catholic but really admire how these people fight for the unborn. Just about everybody else doesn’t seem to care much. Keep it up!
94 percent?
That's what the story says, mlizzy, but this margin of support from self-identified Catholics also can be compared with those of other denominations.
Why is it that only Catholics are held corporately responsible for whatever goes on in government????
Catholics comprise almost exactly 30% the U.S. Congress (House + Senate= 536 total).
That's a bit less than the sum of Baptist + Episcopalian + Lutheran + Methodist.

Sadly, and of course without any sense of satisfaction, I must say there's plenty of responsibility to go around.
I agree - the "self-excommunication" argument is hollow.
You need to identify who among those various denominations voted for and agsinst 0bamacare. The simple fact is that no true Christian can support murder of the unborn.
When you look at how so-called “Catholics” vote on issues like abortion and homosexual marriage, it’s pretty distressing for us Catholics. But it is also comforting, in the long run, when you realize that Muslims are going to teach us how to be Catholics again in this country.
Yes,...It is a really grassroots movement. Lay Catholic simply took charge and are working like crazy to get this abomination stopped.
what, no listings for ‘Jedi’?
Powerfully said.........and I’m an evangelical, non-denominational Christian; NOT a Catholic.
are they what you would call CINO?
Well, for now God knows and that is the most important thing.
Democrats can feel quite comfortable in the modern Catholic Church.
The State is God. It’s just about as good, anyway. /s
Nicely done.
“So, they are Catholics who do not believe in God. Being a Democrat frees you from everything, dont you know?”
Their problem is that government is their god.
The article was written by a Catholic for Catholics in a Catholic publication. His point is not that there is blame to go around. His point is that Catholics should lead. I’m not a Catholic. I think those other guys should lead.
The Winsome Doctrine
Didn't know Protestant was a religion.
How to say this and be nice?
I thought a protestant was some of those religions that broke from the Catholic Church. That's what Sister Erminalda taught us.
Ah, but has the church expelled them! And if not, why not?
I asked my DH to answer your comment, Salvation ...
BUT BUT BUT BBBBUT . . .
Doesn’t the Vatican et al
claim to be the one and only truly true pristine pure sanctified ‘holy’ ‘Apostolic’ etc. etc. etc. church of Jesus The Christ???
How could anyone claiming to be Roman Catholic do anything but march lock-step in concert with the thoughts, wishes, words and genuflections of The Pope???
And if they did, chronically, walk askew . . . certainly the hierarchy of the beloved pristine magicsterical would booth them out after sufficient calls to repentance . . . no doubt, right????
Oh, right, RCINO’s are needed to inflate the statistics.
Silly me.
Well, salvation isn’t dependent on people’s works (Ephesians 2:8,9); but, their works are an indication they don’t have it.
You state this with a certainty that is not warranted. I am not sure where you have gotten your information about the Catholic Church.
Not everything that a Pope says or writes is considered infallable. Only what is stated Ex Cathedra, usually with great specificity, is considered to be infallible by Catholics. Popes can have opinions on many things that are just that, their opinions. The sanctity of all human life is one of the infallible positions, however.
If the bishops really cared about health care and abortion, they would use CCHD funds to buy insurance for the poor. They wouldn’t give one/third of their contributions to community organizing groups that are focused on electing Democrats. I am utterly ashamed of them.
Well in any case, they have expelled themselves from the Church by their actions.
____________
Oh no, my Catholic friends don’t get off the hook that easy! If the Roman Church is indeed the friend and protector of the unborn (as I have no doubt they desire to be) then it’s time for the Bishops, or the Pope himself to start putting their excommunications where their mouths are.
Words are nice, condemnation of sinful actions are all well and good. But 94% of professing Catholic Democrats just supported a bill FAVORING and FUNDING the murder of unborn babies — millions of them. If the heirarchy is SERIOUS, they should IMMEDIATELY issue edicts of excommunication against EVERY ONE of the Congressmen and women who voted for this. Period. Failure to do so can only indicate that the Roman Church talks a good game, but that’s ALL...
Muslims are going to “teach” us a lot of things soon.
No one gets off “easy”, they will certainly pay for their crimes. Their disrespect for Church teaching means they refuse to obey the Magisterial teaching of the Church to their detriment as a matter of free will.
I disagree, works are essential.
In Matt 25:31-46 are many examples of doing good works, proclaimed by Jesus Christ. There is the separation of the sheep from the goats which relate to, the feeding of the hungry, clothing of the naked, visiting the sick and those imprisoned, and more. Notice that both the sheep and the goats believed, but only the sheep did good works. In verse 46, Jesus cautioned as to what will be the reward of those who do not do these things, and of those who do, “And these will go into everlasting punishment, but the just into everlasting life.”
Both faith and works are important. And of course those that sold out for abortion will never escape the justice of God.
FWIW, hypocrisy abounds everywhere, the claim of any of these Rats that they are Christians is a joke.
The promotion of govt funding of abortion is only one sinister development. The other sinister development I see is now the govt claims ownership of you. You are required to buy health insurance whether you want to or not. You do not have the FREEDOM to choose to engage in the commerce of buying an insurance product you are required to.
The inevitable failure of the insurance companies will lead to the govt providing all insurance/care. We will not have the choice to decide if we want something or not. We will not have the choice whether to donate organs or not. We are no longer free.
No one gets off easy, they will certainly pay for their crimes. Their disrespect for Church teaching means they refuse to obey the Magisterial teaching of the Church to their detriment as a matter of free will.
____________
Still they receive the Eucharist? Still they are granted absolution?
Magesterial teaching of the Church aside, I’m glad Christ Jesus can see through their hypocrisy and their attempts to hide their sins behind the robes of the silent clergy.
How can a priest — or Bishop — in good conscience, lay upon the tongues of these serpents the elements of Communion? I confess, I don’t get it.
I have been praying.
Can’t help if you disagree. Ephesians 2:8,9 couldn’t be more clear. For Christians, works are for reward. Not for salvation. For non-Christians, they will indeed be judged by their works. And condemned.
I don’t know either. Bishops especially will answer to God.
Christ clearly condemned the goats for not doing works.
Ephesians talked about the Jewish law. Jesus and the Apostles have told us not just to rely on faith.
“Work as a preacher of the Gospel, fulfill your ministry.” 2Tim 4:5
“Work for upbuilding and not for destruction.” 2Cor 13:10
“Work from the heart as for the Lord, and not for men.” Col 3:23
“Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” Phil 2:12. See also 1Cor 9:24-27.
“For His workmanship we are, created in Christ Jesus in good works, which GOD has made ready beforehand that we may walk in them.” Eph 2:10
“And if you invoke as Father him who without respect of persons judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves with fear in the time of your sojourning.” 1Pet 1:17
“There are just men and wise men, and their works are in the hand of GOD.” Eccl 9:1
“...who will render to every man according to his works.” Rom 2:6
“But their end will be according to their works.” 2Cor 11:15
“For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.” Rom 2:13
“For GOD shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Eccl 12:14
I respect your beliefs as well, but Scripture also tells me to do God’s work on earth too.
It was probably more like 100%, but some got permission to vote “no” if they were in very conservative districts.
The RC church MUST start disciplining over this. Mass must be refused; church membership must be struck.
We can be absolutely required to do good works, and yet not be saved by them.
True! As a Catholic, we must go to Mass every Sunday and receive the Blessed Sacrament.
“But will you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” James 2:20
“Do you see that faith worked along with his works, and by the works the faith was made perfect?” James 2:22
From the perspective of the Church, those Congress critters are doomed unless they run to the mercy of God. But...their arrogance will be their undoing.
“Sadly, and of course without any sense of satisfaction, I must say there’s plenty of responsibility to go around. “
No, your post underscores the point,
Catholic = Episcopalian
If you don’t expel every offending member of Congress, you’ve made the transformation complete....
You poor, sick bastards!
Then again, what good work did the thief on the cross do?
He asked for mercy, if that is considered a work.
Anyway, basic Protestants don’t believe you get to sin all you please and go to heaven anyway.
We believe you must mortify sin. We just don’t believe that mortifying sin saves you.
Ah! To be that good thief!
That’s the trick, if only I can be so lucky. God’s mercy is powerful and I can attest to it. It is almost the Feast of Divine Mercy. April 11th I think. I pray it every day.
When my grandfather was excommunicated in 1919, the bishop called him out in church where he was sitting with his widowed mother, her only child.
Saying a politician has "excommunicated himself" when he receives communion from the hands of a bishop in communion with the See of Peter is just absurd.
It was fingers in cheek
aimed at the rabid folks who
make it SOUND LIKE
The Roman Catholic et al edifice is this
pristine, homogeneous, accurate from before Adam, saintly to the max organization with all the components more or less in 99.9999999% agreement . . . etc. etc. etc.
I know it’s a farce.
All the Prottys know it’s a farce.
Sane, thoughtful, ratioinal Roman Catholics et al know it’s a farce.
The only idiots who don’t seem to know that fantasy is a farce are the folks in the rabid cliques who worship the organization more than God.
