IRS will police health care

TYLER - The Internal Revenue Service will be the government's chief enforcer for health care reform. They'll be responsible for watching both business and individuals to make sure they have the insurance coverage the government requires. But the questions is, will the IRS really be able to enforce this?
According to the new bill, the purpose of the mandates is to regulate economic and financial decisions about how and when health care is paid for, and when health insurance is bought. But many worry if the IRS is up for the challenge.
In 2014, every person and most businesses will be required to certify on their tax returns if they have bought the level of insurance they're required to have. If not, then that person or business will have to pay a separate tax to the IRS. For individuals it could be up to $750 a person or $2,250 a household. And for a business, $750 per uncovered employee.
To make this work, the Congressional Budget Office has estimated that the IRS will need $10 billion in additional funds, funds which were not made available under the health reform bill.

Some believe this will be tough to enforce because of how complicated the bill is.
"They're going to have to beer the branch up in order to enforce it," Peter Milne of Healy, Milne & Associates. "It will actually be cheaper to pay the fines than it will be to pay the premiums."

I’m Amish..or soon will be.
That very point was made in one of the committee hearings I watched on C-span. The costs of the IRS agents were not part of the CBO scoring....
Oh yes, I have a checking account. But it is always a very small amount.
I lost just about every cent I had on Kansas. Drained my bnk accounts pretty much.
"Re-education" camps, here we come!
WAY ahead of ya! Wrote it in on my census form. They can't touch me.
Welcome to my world.
This change is just bringing so much hope!
All I have left is jokes and sarcasm...
Even a Japanese book came out here in Tokyo recently likening he who heralds from Hawaii (or Kenya depending on your viewpoint) to he who heralds from Preddappio, Italy.
Initally a COMMUNIST and then morphing into a FASCIST. Same tactics. Same cult worship Same policies. Same thugocracy. Same mentality.
Chilling.
The Japanese can see it.
Nearly 50% of the US population CAN NOT. At least yet. When they see it, it may be too late. Sad.
So, if I read this correctly, the people who’ve got it all figured out and who are so much smarter than we are and know so much better than we do what’s good for us omitted this minor “funding” detail, did they?
Big confidence builder, that one.
That could be caused by the census glue? Shouldn't we tell someone?
And because all revenue generating bills must begin in the House, Commiecare is now void.
Actually, the IRS hasn’t been funded or authorized to do any such thing.
While it was certainly the intent of the authors, they neglected a few details.
Now, it’s up to US to keep them from addressing this little screw up!
15k to 16.5K more hires by the IRS to be needs, many from ACORN and the like.
Make sure that your congress critter votes to not fund this expansion of the IRS.
That could be caused by the census glue? Shouldn't we tell someone?
..cockroach.?...more likley a nano-size radio-tag
They’re inept...they can’t get the First Time Home Buyer’s credit paid, many are waiting months (like 9 months.)
I came across a blog, quite by accident, and have been following it. Horror stories of people waiting and waiting. The IRS seems to have figured out the process for people filing this year, but dozens of those who filed last year for the rebate are in limbo. Here’s a link, and from this I can pretty much guarantee that if the IRS is involved it’s going to be messed up beyond belief.

There was a funny email going around about an employer who had to, because of this bill, let 60 people go.
He agonized about how he could choose - how to somehow make it fair.
so he went out to the parking lot - and made note of every car with an Obama sticker on it...
Yep, that seemed fair. They voted for change...he'd give it to them.
