Huge crowds expected for McCain-Palin event
The East Valley Tribune, Phoenix, Ariz. ^ | 2010-03-23 | Mike Sakal

Campaign staff and volunteers of Sen. John McCain and his former vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin are preparing for the pair’s appearance at Mesa’s Dobson High School on Saturday.

A spokesman for the camp offered a bit of advice for those wanting to get in: “Folks should get there early,” said Brian Rogers, McCain’s communications director. The event is free, on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require a ticket.

(snip)

Also speaking at a rally in Tucson on Friday, the appearances are McCain and Palin’s first ones together at a public event since their concession speech in the 2008 presidential race.

Their appearance comes just four days after President Barack Obama signed a $938 billion health care reform bill. McCain has been an outspoken critic of the bill and plans to lead an effort to repeal it.

Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is stumping for McCain. She will speak about McCain’s values and what she learned from him during their 2008 presidential campaign and through his battles against his own party line, Rogers said.

McCain will speak about what he appreciates in Palin’s leadership, and speak out against what he believes are misguided priorities in the White House including government overspending, his concerns for the 17 percent unemployment rate in Arizona and the state’s home foreclosure problem as 48 percent of homeowners in Arizona are under water, according to Rogers.

Try the literally thousands of government agencies and government programs the Democrats gave us to create this big government.

Homeland Security was a Republican creation.

So was EPA.

The OMB, NCUA, and NOAA were also Republican creations.

Shall I keep digging?

and they will do it very soon. can you deny that?

With the help of Republican Lindsey Graham. Do you deny that he is a chief sponsor of the proposed Schumer-Graham immigration bill?

3.as in 1 and 2 ditto for the fairness doctrine and net neutrality which Republicans never gave us. democrats with net neutrality will censor the Internet and with the fairness doctrine talk radio. so democrats will take freedom of speech away completely .Republicans never did that.

The McCain-Feingold bill muzzled non-liberal organizations, thereby allowing progressives to gain an advantage at the ballot box.

4.Republicans cut taxes. if they are for big government why cut taxes?Democrats have and will raise taxes (vat tax is coming, cap gains tax etc.)

No, they only defer taxes. Deficit spending is still a tax increase, just a deferred one, since borrowed funds must eventually be paid off by a future generation of Americans (who are essentially being taxed without representation, something that the Founders fought against over two centuries ago).

6.R's and Bush Took war to Islam, the Bush doctrine.

Saying that all of Islam is responsible for the events of September 11 is just as absurd as saying that all of Christianity is responsible for the actions of the members of Westboro Baptist Church.

7.Republicans and Bush never signed on to kyoto(global warming hoax).

No, just McCain and Warner (both Republicans) were chief sponsors of several of the original cap-and-trade bills (i.e., they signed on the global warming hoax).

If medicare part d was so big why do I know seniors that have private insurance on top of medicare and still pay a lot for prescriptions, they introduced that to allow private competition into medicare.

Medicare Part D is about as free market or conservative as Romneycare.

Furthermore, if it is in fact conservative, why does it increase the long-term Federal deficit (i.e., create a deferred tax increase)?

Furthermore, if it is in fact conservative, why does it cement the dependence of Americans upon Medicare, one of LBJ's Great Society boondoggles?

There was no Amnesty .Republicans stopped that you liar.

I'm sorry. I must have missed the part where a very prominent Republican was a chief sponsor of the amnesty bills, and his protege is a chief sponsor of those bills' newest incarnation in the present Congress.

I also must have missed the part where the Republican chief executive was pushing hard for those very same amnesty bills.

“There was no Amnesty “

Not for lack of effort from the GOP leadership.

“Republicans stopped Government socialist healthcare from BJ Clinton and democrats for 12 years Republicans held a bar majority”

Like Medicare Part D?

“if they are for big government why cut taxes?”

Why tax when you can borrow?

“Republicans gave us 2 conservative justices on the Supreme court.”

No, Republicans gave us one. The last one we had to scream about.

“Bush’s appointment of 2 ultra conservative justices allowed the supreme court to not only wipe out your “restrictions on free speech/mcain fiengold” but 100 years of similar older previous laws in one fell swoop. Thank you Bush!”

If only he’d held to his oath of office and not signed the damn thing in the first place. I guess that was too much to ask for.

“If medicare part d was so big why do I know seniors that have private insurance on top of medicare and still pay a lot for prescriptions, they introduced that to allow private competition into medicare.”

Medicare Part D is an unfunded liability of $18 trillion dollars on top of Medicare itself.

Talk about spin. You sound like Baghdad Bob.

“What about the hundreds of programs and agencies Bush cut to more than offse that?”

Like his dancing through Africa to make Bono happy tour? That cost us $25 billion.

Bush was a liberal, big-spending, Pubbie. That’s a fact.

What makes you special? What great life experiences do think you have over us? What do you know we don’t? Do tell?

BS, EPA was created in the 1970’s when democrats had a majority in Congress.

Democrats had a majority for 60 years before 1994 when Republicans finally took “power”( a bare majority). In that
time in those 60 years Democrats created many thousands of government agencies and programs, the big
government we know today, NONE of which republicans created.
I have links that show Bush abolished hundreds of agencies and government programs.

In addition Bush cut hundreds of government programs and agencies which more than offset the handful of things you claim which
most of that is before 1994 and Homeland security was for national security so conservatives were
for that.

no that’s not a fact.

If Bush grew the government than show how Bush grew the number of government employees in relation to population.

you are brainwashed by the liberal media. the media fooled you . it wasn’t government growth but inflation, 2 wars ,military speding ,population growth.

how does it feel to be the puppet of liberals/marxists/democrats who control the media?

Quit trying to scapegoat Democrats for Republican treachery.

Quote:

According to the publication "The Guardian: Origins of the EPA," President Nixon declared his intention to establish the Environmental Protection Agency with Reorganization Plan Number 3, dated July 9, 1970. Reorganization Plan Number 3 can be found in the Congressional Record, Vol 116, H 6523 (91st Congress, 2nd Session).

Bush nor Republicans did not grow the government.

If they did then show the numbers of government workers in relation to population before Bush and after Bush. And show a significant increase ok ? if you can’t then you make a fool of yourself .and that goes for the rest of you brainwashed puppets of the media who don’t understand that inflation is not government growth , that military spending for 2 wars is not government growth and so on.

You are so blinded by wanting to hate the GOP, the one thing that could stop the democrat/Marxists from turning the U.S. into a socialist state. wel enjoy living in a socialist state becaus you chose to not vote Republican or stayed home or bashed Republicans. just fyi all peoples in every fully socialist state have been starving skeletons and slaves of the government. Look up the killing fields of Cambodia to see what you have done with your lies.

“BS, EPA was created in the 1970’s when democrats had a majority in Congress.”

EPA was created by Richard Nixon, Republican.

“NONE of which republicans created.”

So, they opposed every single big government program? Really? In the 1935 Social Security vote, 16 Republican senators said “yay” and only 4 said “nay” (5 abstained). It was better on Medicare, but 13 voted “yea” on it anyway.

“I have links that show Bush abolished hundreds of agencies and government programs.”

He created quite a bit too.

“Homeland security was for national security so conservatives were
for that.”

Smart conservatives realized “Homeland Security” (an Orwellian name if there ever was one) was an unnecessary rearrangement of the Titanic’s deck chairs. It wasted BILLIONS.

One man does not equal all Republicans get it?

It was more than just one man.

McCain, Bush, Giuliani, Huckabee, Romney, and Graham were all pro-illegals.
