Huge crowds expected for McCain-Palin event
The East Valley Tribune, Phoenix, Ariz. ^ | 2010-03-23 | Mike Sakal

Posted on 03/23/2010 8:12:27 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

Campaign staff and volunteers of Sen. John McCain and his former vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin are preparing for the pair’s appearance at Mesa’s Dobson High School on Saturday.

A spokesman for the camp offered a bit of advice for those wanting to get in: “Folks should get there early,” said Brian Rogers, McCain’s communications director. The event is free, on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require a ticket.

(snip)

Also speaking at a rally in Tucson on Friday, the appearances are McCain and Palin’s first ones together at a public event since their concession speech in the 2008 presidential race.

Their appearance comes just four days after President Barack Obama signed a $938 billion health care reform bill. McCain has been an outspoken critic of the bill and plans to lead an effort to repeal it.

Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is stumping for McCain. She will speak about McCain’s values and what she learned from him during their 2008 presidential campaign and through his battles against his own party line, Rogers said.

McCain will speak about what he appreciates in Palin’s leadership, and speak out against what he believes are misguided priorities in the White House including government overspending, his concerns for the 17 percent unemployment rate in Arizona and the state’s home foreclosure problem as 48 percent of homeowners in Arizona are under water, according to Rogers.

Anybody notice how enthusiasm for Sarah has fallen faster than the price of Arizona real estate since she started campaigning for McCain?

I can say she’s completely lost me with this display of loyalty to the old Washington progressive machine.

Guess I’m holding out hope now that Michelle Bachmann won’t sell us out too.

Sen. John McCain (Idiot-AZ) needs to go away. He said we have nothing to fear from Obama. He voted for illegal aliens amnesty. His family is a nattering embarrassment.

Sarah needs to watch the company she keeps - not a healthy thing to associate with McRino.

I am getting the feeling Sarah has decided to stay out of Presidential politics.

She seems to have moved to the lecture ciruit and now some “Alaska Reality Show”. Reality show?? sure does seem a different path than she was on last month. Making a very good living without the hassle of national politics is probably very enticing.

I hope I am wrong.

do not have to be scared of as the next Senator from Arizona."

Here is what should happen. All the Conservatives need to show up to the Palin McCain rallies. When Palin comes up, they should cheer, hoop it up, wave Palin 2012 signs, etc. When McCain gets up, put the signs down, quiet down and politely applause.

McCain will send Palin home early and she can call it clean with him and move on...

Unfortunate. But is she stumping for McCain, or just giving one appearance.

Both McCain and Palin took on the Republican Party. The difference, of course, is that Sarah did it from the right, and helped get rid of several corrupt RINOs. McCain always does it from the left.

Both McCain and Palin are mavericks, too. The difference is that McCain constantly veers left and works with Democrats, whereas Sarah fights the party machine and opposes corruption.

One further thing. I doubt whether Sarah will persuade any real conservatives to vote for McCain. The only result, if any, is that she may undermine her own support. She does this out of gratitude and loyalty, but I wish she had stayed clear of the primary.

You McCain people fascinate me (well, not really, but it's more polite than what I really think). You point to the tiny little period-sized spec on the sheet for the conservative candidate and expecting us to equate that with the Encyclopedia Britannica of negatives about your guy.

Amen to that!

McCain is ragging on and on about Washington, D.C., and condemning Washington as being the “problem”.

Excuse me, but he has been in Washington for decades. He is the “problem”.

Anyone who has been in Washington over 18 years needs to be retired this coming election. It is time for term limits for both parties and we do not need special legislation to do it, only the voting booths.

The “good old boy/girl network” needs to be dissolved into a fresh start for our country.

What's certain is two scheduled public events, and one private fundraising event. All that this weekend, then we'll have to wait and see if there is more. I hope that'll be all, but Juan won't hesitate to impose on and on, as long as he thinks she helps him, and I don't know if she'll say no.

More evidence that Ms. Palin is an empty skirt and lightweight. McCain has a career of “turncoatism” and propping up dying democrats to make sure republicans snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The McLame campaign was personally vicious to Ms. Palin and McCain’s hag of a daughter is so radioactive I don’t know why sweet Sarah would go anywhere near either of them but for rank political posturing or just addiction to winking at adoring throngs of stock car racers and beer swilling Guinea Hen hunters. Decisions like this prove that by 2012 the incredible shrinking Marionette will be long forgotten. (But still winking and saying, “Ya know”.)
