Campaign staff and volunteers of Sen. John McCain and his former vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin are preparing for the pairs appearance at Mesas Dobson High School on Saturday.
A spokesman for the camp offered a bit of advice for those wanting to get in: Folks should get there early, said Brian Rogers, McCains communications director. The event is free, on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require a ticket.
Also speaking at a rally in Tucson on Friday, the appearances are McCain and Palins first ones together at a public event since their concession speech in the 2008 presidential race.
Their appearance comes just four days after President Barack Obama signed a $938 billion health care reform bill. McCain has been an outspoken critic of the bill and plans to lead an effort to repeal it.
Palin, the former governor of Alaska, is stumping for McCain. She will speak about McCains values and what she learned from him during their 2008 presidential campaign and through his battles against his own party line, Rogers said.
McCain will speak about what he appreciates in Palins leadership, and speak out against what he believes are misguided priorities in the White House including government overspending, his concerns for the 17 percent unemployment rate in Arizona and the states home foreclosure problem as 48 percent of homeowners in Arizona are under water, according to Rogers.

You McCain people fascinate me (well, not really, but it's more polite than what I really think). You point to the tiny little period-sized spec on the sheet for the conservative candidate and expecting us to equate that with the Encyclopedia Britannica of negatives about your guy.
Not taking a position on the race is like sucking half as bad isn't it. I believe the correct thing to do is endorse JD.
So, does anybody know what politicians have endorsed JD?
Palin for Senate in 2014. She’s lining up support to be given more than freshman status when elected. Making $$ comes first and she can do it without restrictions right now.
When’s your boy Ron Paul going to appear with JD?
Amen to that!
McCain is ragging on and on about Washington, D.C., and condemning Washington as being the “problem”.
Excuse me, but he has been in Washington for decades. He is the “problem”.
Anyone who has been in Washington over 18 years needs to be retired this coming election. It is time for term limits for both parties and we do not need special legislation to do it, only the voting booths.
The “good old boy/girl network” needs to be dissolved into a fresh start for our country.
I’m hoping to hear how many showed up with JD signs - chanting Go JD!
What's certain is two scheduled public events, and one private fundraising event. All that this weekend, then we'll have to wait and see if there is more. I hope that'll be all, but Juan won't hesitate to impose on and on, as long as he thinks she helps him, and I don't know if she'll say no.
Too little too late.
Should have gone to the polls in 2008.
More evidence that Ms. Palin is an empty skirt and lightweight. McCain has a career of “turncoatism” and propping up dying democrats to make sure republicans snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The McLame campaign was personally vicious to Ms. Palin and McCain’s hag of a daughter is so radioactive I don’t know why sweet Sarah would go anywhere near either of them but for rank political posturing or just addiction to winking at adoring throngs of stock car racers and beer swilling Guinea Hen hunters. Decisions like this prove that by 2012 the incredible shrinking Marionette will be long forgotten. (But still winking and saying, “Ya know”.)
She should say that; but I was talking about her talking about McCain.
You posted this to me when I asked, since you support Ron Paul, do you then believe the US was responsible for 9-11 as does he?
Care to find the post where I said that the U.S. government perpetrated the 9/11 attacks (i.e., the "Truther" conspiracy)? Or am I just guilty by association?

From the thread titled: Sarah Palins Bad Tea (Southern Avenger))
So Sarah is guilty by association but you're not?
No, I missed it, she is the darling of the tea parties and just became the second biggest selling author of 2009 and is still selling books, and is now committing to getting rid of about 30 Democrat Congressman nationwide.
I still think that she can keep the GOP from anointing Mitt Romney.
"I have to tell you, J.D. is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared of as the next Senator from Arizona."
“The events are going to be controlled.”
Can’t let Little Lord FauntlerMcCain be subjected to the opinions of his “friends”, now can we?
Oh I don’t know about that, a whole lot of people (me included) from Arizona AND NEvada are traveling to the desert outside Searchlight on Saturday to see her kick off the let’s get rid of Harry Reid rally.
I hope that there will be many.
Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, and Jim DeMint aren't, she is helping all of them as well.
I love ron paul.
I’m irrelavent and insane.
Here, try this one.
McPain assoicates with Sarah, who assoicates with Rand Paul, who associates with Daddy Paul who associates with rabscuttle.
The event is free, on a first-come, first-served basis and does not require a ticket. The gymnasium can accommodate about 2,000 people but an online RSVP at www.johnmccain.com/sarah, has received more than 2,000 RSVPs already, according to Rogers.Doors are scheduled to open for the crowd at 7:30 a.m., and the rally is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
