Woman Allegedly Kills Man With 'Wiccan Dagger' (WITCHCRAFT)
ALBUQUERQUE JOURNAL ^ | 3.23/10

Posted on 03/24/2010 8:52:21 AM PDT by woofie

'Police say Angela Sanford, 30, told detectives she killed Joel Leyva with a dagger after luring him to the open space to drink alcohol and celebrate a Wiccan holiday.

The two had met at a casino last week and had talked by phone early Monday about meeting in the open space. Sanford allegedly took off her most of her clothes and then stabbed Leyva as many as 13 times.

Sanford later encountered several people in the open space and told them she had been raped, which detectives now say is not true.

She is being held at the Metropolitan Dentention Center on a $500,000 cash or surety bond, charged with an open count of murder.

Sanford told detectives she is a practicing Wiccan and that she had told Leyva she was going to the foothills to celebrate Beltane, the Wiccan celebration of Spring. She told police that she and Leyva drank some beer and that Leyva had made "inappropriate sexual gestures behind her back" while she was urinating.

Sanford told police that Leyva took a rope from around her waist she was using as a belt and tied her hands with it. She also said Leyva then noticed the dagger in her pants pocket and took it out.

Sanford told detectives she was able to get the rope off her wrists and that she was afraid Leyva was going to rape her. So she decided to let Leyva "think she wanted to seduce him." She removed most of her clothing and convinced Leyva to lie on his back with his pants undone.

There’s no such thing as a Wiccan dagger, and Beltane is May 1st. This was a nutty broad making crap up.

Clearly, the government needs to assert better "Wiccan dagger control".

Can we please start licensing and registering "Wiccan daggars" to stop this madness.

I smiled at an ugly chick with armpit hair. That also counts for celebrating NOUW and GLAD.

Who would contaminate a ritual item by using it to kill like that? Even cutting herbs you are better off using a consecrated sickle instead of your athame.

As for the date, confused with Ostara maybe?

Bottom line: This gal murdered this guy and is nuttier than a football bat.

Time to ban even “wiccan daggers”?

Yes, all religions are equal BUT we can't have sharp weapons available. No, we must protect people from their EVIL HEARTS through banning weapons. Never, ever, change their hearts which would influence their BEHAVIOR. Let's keep Christ out of our culture and depend on evil to make it better. LOL!

“There’s no such thing as a Wiccan dagger, and Beltane is May 1st. “

Technically incorrect. One of the central tents of Wicca is that you can practice it anyway you wish.

It is called an athane, not a “Wiccan dagger”, and is a tool used in witchcraft. The timing is curiously close to the spring equinox.

She probably didn't tell him that he was going to be part of the celebration.

Leyva is an anagram for Levay, as in dear ole Anton Levay.

Apparently I can't spell. It is actually called an "athame".

Here is an image of one for sale.

Within any group there are evil people. Even with "wicca" I'd rather not paint with too broad a brush - it's what "liberals" do - not us.
