Seattle Mom: School Sent My Daughter for Secret Abortion without Telling Me

By Patrick B. Craine

SEATTLE, Washington, March 24, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) – A Seattle mother is furious after learning that her 15-year-old daughter was sent by her school's health center for a secret abortion, reports ABC-affiliate KOMO.

The mother, identified only as “Jill,” says her daughter was given a pregnancy test at Ballard High School's Teen Health Center, which came back positive.  Rather than informing the parents, she said, the center gave the girl a pass and put her in a taxi for the abortuary, all during school hours.

"They just told her that if she concealed it from her family, that it would be free of charge and no financial responsibility," Jill said.

She added that she had signed a consent form allowing her daughter to be treated at the health center, thinking it covered issues like earaches, sports physicals, or even contraception, but wasn't aware they would be arranging abortions.

"Nowhere in this paperwork does it mention abortion or facilitating abortion." she said. "Signing this paper makes me feel like my rights were completely stripped away."

T.J. Cosgrove of the King County Health Department, which oversees the center, explained that Washington state does not recognize parents' opinions on such issues.  "At any age in the state of Washington, an individual can consent to a termination of pregnancy," he said.

This is happening all over the United States...this is not a unique situation at all. There are millions of mothers out there that have no clue their daughters are doing this.

It happens in Texas also, a conservative state, but the liberals got a stranglehold on the issue and schools are hauling girls off.

Schools are teaching kids to have sex, promoting sex as a natural body function not to be ashamed of, handing out condoms and BC pills and haven’t a clue whether the kids are using them or NOT!

THEN when a girl turns up pregnant they whisk them off to the murdering babies clinic with a promise of don’t ask don’t tell, and it’s free.

The school counselor tells them that the clinic will offer them grief counseling and lots of assistance. But when they get there, they talk to them about 30 minutes and whisk them to an abortion. When it’s all over, they tell them that they don’t do counseling they’ll have to go to the county to get free counseling.

They have no clue what damage they’re doing to that young girl’s psyche, or to the mother/daughter relationship once the parent finds out as they always do, because the girl ends up not being able to handle it on their own.

Never again, can the daughter expect respect from the mother or trust.

This is an abhorrent practice pulled off by these cold-hearted secularists who care nothing about parental relationships and see life as expendable for THEIR purposes.

The public schools do not care about ‘parental rights’.

To the educational bureaucracy, ‘parental rights’ are an anachronism to be erased.

“Can you imagine getting the call if something had gone wrong?”

There was a case like that in NYC, probably (oh gosh, how long, longer than I want to think) 15 or so years ago (seriously, it could be like 20). I forget the girl’s name, and I don’t really know if the school was involved or if NY had (or has) a parental notification law, but the poor parents got their teenage daughter (and unborn grandchild obviously) back DOA.

They sued and won, that was the part that got it in the news.

I saw the attorney for the school and a lady speaking for the mother of the girl. The attorney read off the wording on the medical care release form and said the mother should have known that contraceptive care included abortions. She goes, “most people I know understand that includes abortions.”

Contraceptive care to me would mean birth control pills or condoms that Pelosi freely wants handed out to save costs for the states. I would never put my child in a schools medical care program but I can understand a single mother struggling that might. If that is the case.

What really galled me was the attorney said, “The mother should be outraged at her 15 yr old daughter having sex and not upset at the school.”

Isn’t it pro abortion groups who say parents should not be told of abortions because the parent may harm the child?

This is where our world is headed. They, (liberal monsters) will harm our children for their goals and then say it is the parents fault. The young girl could have bled to death. She also could have damage where she cannot have a baby later in life. The parent would be oblivious to what was going on. And what about the psychological problems? The parent could help with that if they knew or get the child help.

That being said, it is done here in California. The counselors of the school usually take the child and do not coldly stick them in a taxi cab like they did this girl. It use to hurt my friend who was a counselor at a continuation school that she had to take them. One young girl had 3 abortions before she got out of high school. To this day I can’t get that story out of my head. The system allowed this young girl to have sex with anyone she wants and then abort the babies.

They want control of our children at birth to adult under Obama’s new preschool gvmt center programs. There will be more of this.

In Washington they have also gone the way of Oregon if you seek medical treatment for a possible terminal illness. (They say they follow federal guidelines.) If you request a certain medicine or treatment and it is too expensive, they will send a letter offering to pay for physician asssisted suicide only. Which I am told costs $55.00 for the pills.
