AZ-Sen. 2010: McCain calls for civility in health care debate (McCain wants to "respect" Rats)

Washington (CNN) – Sen. John McCain called for a more civilized political discourse on Monday after members of Congress who voted for health care reform reported incidents of harassment and threats of violence.

"There is a lot of anger and passion out there," McCain said on CNN's "John King USA." "Let's change that into a spirited and healthy respectful campaign season between Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservatives. Let's really go at it, but let's do it with respect, that's the key to it."

McCain noted that he has held thousands of town hall meetings during his long political career. "The only thing I ask people to do is be respectful," he said.

The Arizona Senator wasn't so optimistic about the future of bipartisanship among legislators in Washington. The prospects for immigration reform or financial regulatory reform appear dim, he said, because Democrats have failed to reach across the aisle since President Obama took office.

Yeah, you’re right, Juan. We should treat the Rats with respct if for no other reason than they have been so civil is their discourse with conservatives.

To hell with the bastard rats.

Juan, it is time to retire. Please. Serve your country just one more time and GO HOME!

r385, Indeed you are the beacon of light in the darkness of RINO-ism and your constant vigilence in keeping the spotlight on this buzzard is greatly appreciated.

What an ASS!! (not YOU of course, but "Scarface").

Good riddens to this guy.

Right! That butt-kisser McCain in his campaign specifically assured us all that Obama is not a socialist/marxist and that O would be a good president. McCain is largely responsible for O becoming president, because he did not do his job as the Republican candidate to be a real adversary, to challenge and expose the dems. That was McCain’s job, in which he was criminally negligent. I don’t believe that Americans should be respectful or tolerant of the opposition that is openly trying to overturn the American way of life. What kind of a dope would make a claim like that and what kind of idiotic sheep would submit to it..
