Dem lawmaker takes exception with Palin 'reload' comment

Rep. Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) doesn't appreciate a remark made by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) that used gun imagery.

Palin tweeted Tuesday about the passage of the healthcare reform bill into law:

Commonsense Conservatives & lovers of America: "Don't Retreat, Instead - RELOAD!" Pls see my Facebook page.

The New York Democrat responded Wednesday, ripping the comment:

Reload? @SarahPalinUSA Is your choice of words inciteful or ignorant?

Palin's "reload" comment came at a time when several Democratic lawmakers who voted for the healthcare bill have received personal threats to their personal safety. Palin has not condoned the incidents.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) have denounced the threats to members of Congress.

What is scary here is that if Israel feels they no longer have the backing of the U.S. (including military support) they may preemptively strike those who threaten them with nukes.

I agree that is scary. Also scary is if they do not strike those who threaten them with nukes.

What I meant to say is that Israel is likely to use nukes against their enemies if the U.S. is no longer trustworthy to them.

Thanks for the re-iteration of your position. I understand it and believe there is more than a trace of validity to it. I am not sure that I want Israel to use nukes, but if Israel feels threatened, then it should do what it has to do. I am thinking, more practically speaking, of pre-emptively attacking Iran. I am fairly certain Obama will let Iran do as it pleases while trying to keep Israel from properly defending itself.

After what I've heard of late, there is no doubt that Obozo is going to give Iran a free pass, while trying to diminish Israel's ability to defend themselves. The sanctions against Iran that WERE being considered have now been watered down to next to nothing. The U.S. is now the biggest joke on the planet, and our enemies know it. Russia has been flying high altitude bombers over UK airspace since Jan 2009 (and, more than likely, also U.S. airspace - but this admin will not let that get out). The Cold War is going to restart and soon. But, it will get very hot sooner than later.

That is proof that the Democrats are control freaks. The want to dictate how their opponent's use their tongue. I'd like to invite some of them over so they can hear some my language. They would realize that gun imagery isn't that bad..

A term that we once used, if you grew up during “Happy Days”, and were in a dead-end argument with someone who had abandoned all reason was “Drop Dead!”.

I guess in today’s tender political climate this is no longer allowed.

To bad, it seems like a perfectly reasonable response to these wussy legislators who would sacrifice Our Freedom for their POWER.

How are they going to feel when their tyranny drives us to load in the first place? These mental giants can’t even handle the phrase used as metaphor.

If I recall correctly, an MSM punk said something like “attacking Palin politically is so easy...it’s like shooting a moose from a chopper.” Or did he say that about somebody else? Does anyone remember who said that and who he was talking about? That sounds more violent to me than saying “reload.” Sarah was just using a metaphor...she wasn’t literally talking about reloading guns. She’s a western lady from the wide open spaces where free people still hunt and fish outdoors. Give her a break, you MSM clowns.

Found it. Here it is:

http://newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelstein/2008/11/05/olbermann-fantasizes-about-palin-being-shot-moose-chopper

The exact quote was: “She might stick around to be the slowest-moving target imaginable for comedians and commentators. It would be like shooting moose from a chopper.”

Well, that's just too damn bad, you whiny, pant-wetting, loafer-wearing little commie. Deal with it.

When gays do it it is “Constitutionally protected rights”.

When conservatives do it should be illegal.

Any Questions? :)

Contrast their behavior with Sarah Palin. Despite the violent language some people have used when talking about her, I haven’t heard her complain once about implied threats against her.

Steve Israel (D-N.Y.)

He introduced H.R.2684 last fall. Sets up a national "Hate Crimes Hotline". Also H.R. 1439 which encourages foreign governments to prosecute WWII Nazis (how many of them still alive Steve?...and what about KGB criminals, why not include them?...lots of them running lose today. They're aren't in nursing homes or using walkers. Might be some right in your district.)
