Holocaust scholars on Thursday attacked a bid to include images of kissing lesbians in a monument dedicated to the thousands of homosexuals persecuted by the Nazis, saying it distorted history.
The monument was erected in May 2008 opposite the city's large memorial to the six million Jewish Holocaust victims.
It is currently comprised of a concrete slab with a window through which viewers can watch a video of a "never-ending" kiss between two men.
Under the original plans, the video is to change every two years to feature two women locked in an embrace, meaning the switch is due in May.
But Alexander Zinn, a board member of the foundation that maintains the former Nazi concentration camps near Berlin, said such a move would distort history as there were no known Holocaust victims targeted for being lesbian.
"Historical truth must remain the focus," Zinn told AFP.
He has banded together with other Holocaust experts and fired off a letter of protest to Culture Minister Michael Neumann and Berlin's openly gay mayor, Klaus Wowereit.
Neumann defended the plans as true to the original concept of the memorial in addressing present-day discrimination against lesbians and gays as well as the plight of homosexuals at the hands of the Nazis.

I stopped watching 2 sci-fi series’s (flash forward and Stargate Universe) because of lesbian kissing scenes. It isn’t appropriate family viewing, so as much as I love sci-fi..... adios bad Hollywood PC!

In my opinion, it mocks the dead. They're equating a few dysfunctional freaks to the millions of slaughtered Jews.
They did the same thing to blacks. They equated their sexual fetish to the plight of slave labor.
It's always about them and their kinky sex. Nothing or anyone else matters. Gotta get their sex habits into the schools, the scouts, the YMCA, the zoos, .....

OK, the two kissing males is in, two years at a time. The two kissing females is up in the air, they may not get their two years. Since it required only a single Jewish parent or grandparent to be persecuted, how about two years for a gentile girl kissing a Jewish guy. Two for a Jewish girl kissing a gentile guy. Both historically accurate. I'm pleased, and a bit surprised, they limited their exhibit to kissing.
Last night they had Ugly Betty’s younger brother kiss another boy. Here’s a show young kids like to watch, and now this.
They’ve made you think he was leaning in that direction for a long time. In this episode, he asked Betty’s co-worker how to approach someone you’re attracted to. So it was a given it was going to be a guy. Well, it wasn’t. It was a cute girl at school and I like where it was headed. Then this guy, a friend of his just lays one on him.
