Yes, and as Levin reminded us this evening, her loyalty is a virtue.

Rest assured, if JD wins the primary, she will support him.

She deserves it.

In my book.

Our allegience is to a PHILOSOPHY not to one single person--no matter how good that person is, and Sarah Palin IS GOOD. When we get the latter way, it morphs into this "Day in the Life" and "Pray for President Bush" "compassionate conservatism" RINO cultism, so much so that it got to the ludicrous point --right here within the belly of solid conservatism on Free Republic -- of giving him a pass for having millions of illegals come over on his own watch, with that reprehensible Karl Rove orchestrating such a disastrous national defense / internatl security and social policy all along the way.

Governor Sarah Palin is right on about 95% of things. And that is good for me. But she sure is wrong on this one--and I for one will not hold back saying so.

To stump a little bit for him out of what the Japanese would call "giri-ninjo" (obligation for past favors/debts; appreciation for the break(s) he did no doubt give her) is gentlewomanly and admirable...to a point. But after that, she needs to reign it in. She knows in her heart of hearts that a) McCain is no conservative; and b) he is with the enemy. So the less we give him to knock out a legitimate conservative, the better. Whom among you at Free Republic can challenge this logic (adhering to stated FR political philosophy) with a straight face?

Politics is a business.
There are some things you HAVE to do.
There are some things you CAN’T do.

Right you are! It's politics. She's doing just what we did in '08: going with the lesser of two evils...in this case, the lesser is backing McCain and the greater is "looking like an ingrate for not backing McCain."

I have absolutely no quarrel with this decision. I voted for McCain. Didn't like it, but I had to.

From everything else we know about Palin and her positions, we can fairly assume she is just doing what she HAS to do.

Purists shouldn't follow politics, they actually degrade it.

What exactly has she done that’s disloyal?? She has stood up for her views...and hasn’t changed them a bit. Campaigning for McCain angers me too..however it’s a step on the path to a Sarah Palin Presidency......It may make me sick but it’s preperation for her. Kind of like when she will have to do those horrible interviews with libs that will attack her and try gotcha questions...another obstacle for Sarah to overcome......

Which is exactly what JD said today on Cavuto..of course she would support JD..in fact, I was reading on C4P today from someone who posted there that she knows for a fact that Sarah and JD have spoken and that she does support him and he told her that he understands why she is supporting McCain. JD is a class act, I used to never really be into politics but I can always tell who is a class act and JD Hayworth is a class act

Sarah Palin is simply being gracious to John McCain for giving her the national stage she has now. No doubt some of the same folks who are complaining about her now would have criticized her for being an ingrate had she refused to campaign for him.

Is she dissing J.D. Hayworth? Is she saying bad things about him? Probably not, because she's not there necessarily to run against J.D., but to support the man who supported her last year.

Oh, don’t get me wrong....I’d vote for her...but mine ain’t the vote that she needs to procure. She’s got it already. Not to mention she’s from Alaska...and like it or not (I don’t care), many will not take her seriously. Barack can get away with having no experience, but Sarah won’t because she is a conservative.

I hate Romney, Pawlenty, and especially Huckabee who is a weasel. Gingrich is tainted.

I give some slack to Ryan, and there are others out there who are conservative more than centrist...not advocating anyone at this point.. some other governors would be better than Palin from an electability standpoint IMO. Palin after the last election just arouses the left as much as she energizes the right.

I’m tired of hearing about the Republican front runners, because they are ALL limited and ALL standard fare.

The next election is going to be won by a federal government outsider, who hasn’t run for federal office before with a record of fiscal conservatism IMO.

But I’d vote for Sarah in a heartbeat.

Sarah is staying true to her word and on course. She is leading by example, in taking back the country from those who are trying to destroy it.

Go Sarah.

If one has a national interest, they should stay out of state politics. Period.

Sarah is just being decent and dancing with the one who brung her. She owes him her current status and she’s a loyal broad.

I’m no McCain fan (though a HUGE Sarah fan) but there you have it.

Reagan campaigned against G W Bush in a house primary race.

If only he had your wisdom he could have done great things!

McCain’s views and Palin’s views aren’t any different in my opinion. When you look at her stance and actions while governor on illegal immigration, it was the exact same position as McCain’s. Folks who are shocked are uninformed.

"...trash talking never gets anything done."

Wow - that sounds just like something RINO McCain would come up with. He wouldn't say anything bad about BHO (cause that just wouldn't be "honorable"), and look what happened.

She really shot herself in the foot on this one.
