Palin To Tea Party Rally: Dump the Democrats [Tells Harry Reid: "You're Fired"]

Palin To Tea Party Rally: Dump the Democrats ‘You're fired,’ she says of Senate leader Harry Reid in his hometown

LAS VEGAS - Sarah Palin exhorted thousands of conservative tea party activists assembled in the Nevada desert Saturday to "fire" Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other Democrats from Congress in the upcoming national election.

The wind whipped U.S. flags behind the former Alaska governor as she stood on a makeshift stage, holding a microphone and her notes as she spoke to the cheering crowd in Reid's hometown. She told them Reid, fighting for re-election, is "gambling away our future."

"Someone needs to tell him, this is not a crapshoot," Palin said.

About 7,000 people streamed into tiny Searchlight, a former mining town 60 miles south of Las Vegas, bringing American flags, "Don't Tread on Me" signs and outspoken anger toward Reid, President Barack Obama and the health care overhaul.

Palin told them the big-government, big-debt spending spree of the Senate majority leader, Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is over.

"You're fired!" Palin said.

A string of polls has shown Reid is vulnerable in politically moderate Nevada after pushing Obama's agenda in Congress. His standing has also been hurt by Nevada's double-digit unemployment and record foreclosure and bankruptcy rates.

The Searchlight native responded with sarcasm to the large crowd gathered in the hardscrabble town of about 1,000 he grew up in.

"I'm happy so many people came to see my hometown of Searchlight and spend their out-of-state money, especially in these tough economic times," Reid said Saturday in a statement released through his Senate campaign. "This election will be decided by Nevadans, not people from other states who parachuted in for one day to have a tea party."

"About 7,000 people streamed into tiny Searchlight"

msnbc admits to 7,000 people? Well, if they admit to there being that many people, then there must have been a whole lot more.

You believe everything the LameStream Media tells you? According to FNC they ran out of parking space and had to shuttle people in.

“You believe everything the LameStream Media tells you?”

Yeah, I do. I’m stupid. Why would you say something like that? I saw the pictures of the rally and had a friend there and they said the numbers were about right. Seriously, why insult me? I expressed an opinion, based on my own observations and input from people I trust. Cripes.

7000 was the AP report. Politico on the other hand estimate 20,000. It wasn’t a low turnout - ask Jim R he couldn’t even get on the site due to it being full.

We were there. I don’t know how to count heads in crowds like that so I will give you an eye witness report.

We waited in line on Hiway 95 for an hour before we could turn off onto the property. The traffic was backed up from Searchlight and from the other direction from Vegas. After we turned off onto the dirt road, we waited in line for another 50 minutes.

I left the car to find a bathroom, since we were almost to the gate by this time. My husband waited in line to park the car.

When I returned, he said the car in front of us and all the way back had to turn around since they had no parking places left, we would have to park out on the hiway.

We made our way back to 95 and there were cars parked along both sides of the road and out in the desert almost all the way back to Searchlight. That was over 2 miles back to town and then the walk in from the hiway.
We knew we’d never make it back in time so we listened to Sarah Palin’s speech on FoxNews on our XM radio.

I would love to have been there and seen her in person, but honestly, you couldn’t get anywhere close to that stage.
I am sure there were more than 7,000 people.

They were expecting 10,000 people, I think they had figured out the parking for that many and ran out of space.
Well, that’s my account of the day.

I am happy we went, next time we will take the RV and spend the night and be on site the day before. It was good to see so many people who are sick and tired of what is happening to our country.

Oh, btw, I gave the volunteer who was directing traffic the signs I had made so he could give them to someone who made it inside the gate.

And I heard her website had a map of congressional districts, with a gun scope target on them.

See, the leftists don’t understand sarcasm or the use of metaphors. The MSM has picked up on that, and assume that Sarah wants to literally use rifles to shoot congressmen to get them out of office.

I wonder how many average people still trust the MSM, when they see these people saying that Republicans, Tea Party activists, etc. literally want to kill somebody.

Today on Bob Brinker’s radio show “MoneyTalk”, Bob reported there were 50,000 anti-Reid protesters and 200 pro-ReidBots.

He also discussed the perils of the DeathCare bill.

I'm suprised to hear that. The few times I've listened to Brinker he sounded like an Obama bot.

Thanks for the eyewitness report. Sounds more like TENS of thousands, which would jibe perfectly with MSNBC’s “7,000” report.

Yes, I was PO’ed at Bob several times in the past because he made what I’d call liberal remarks. I even stopped listening every week.

But today I was heartened to hear him really attack DeathCare and he even read a letter he got from a surgeon who described the gov’t hoops he’ll have to go through to help his patients due to DeathCare. The doctor most detested the intrusion of the gov’t into the patient-doctor relationship.

Bob also discussed at length, the peril that our economy is in due to out of control gov’t spending, saying that DC apparently does think money grows on trees.

Nope. I look at the pictures, read reports and rely on friends for information. Don’t you?

Hey, listen, it is just my opinion. I saw the pictures, saw the police and fire reports and had personal feedback. I don’t care what the press said, I saw the overhead shots and in MY OPINION the 7-8,000 number is about right. Sorry if it offends you or makes me weak minded, but I don’t believe any of what I hear and very little of what I see, even with my own lyin’ eyes.

the Marxist could NOT get 10,000 people to drive 80 miles north of Las Vegas on a two lane county road to a empty desert no man’s land on there own . The town is in the middle of nowhere. The union goons and welfare crowds are bussed in and paid to show up.
