My husband and I attended the Glenn Beck American Revival event today. It was very enlightening and inspiring!
Barton did a great job informing us about the history of the Constitution and our Founders....and not just the famous ones. I can't tell you how much I learned today and the references to go learn more....like John Locke's Two Treatises of Government, which was drawn upon for drafting the Constitution.
Buckner was excellent, as well as the Judge! I could listen to them all day.
I was a little disappointed when the Judge said he thought the healthcare bill could be at the Supreme Court in 2.5 years. Seems too long! ...he said if folks get a taste of the entitlements of this bill then it will be virtually impossible to repeal.
Glenn announced that he has a panel or team of experts that are working on a budget proposal that would help get us out of this mess. He said he will roll that out...not sure of when, but I thought it was next month or maybe in May. The proposal wouldn't be popular, but would be required in order to get this country back on track.
Anyway, I didn't see this posted, so I hope it's not a duplicate. I also don't post often, so I apologize in advance if it's under the wrong category or unintelligible.
Well, I’m glad to hear it.
Wish I could have been there. Any observations are welcome.

Yo, ILK, if you’re reading. Here’s the skinny on Orlando........
And how about the 85% of us who are happy with our insurance and our health care. When we get a taste of worse health care at higher prices, I wonder if he thinks that will count for anything. Not to mention the people who will lose their jobs entirely because of the extra costs to their employers.
This is not just another entitlement. It gives to some but takes away from far more.

BULL...wait til they get a taste of paying for it.
Thanks for posting. BIG THANKS for your activism. Thanks for Barton, Buckner, Napolitano and all in attendance.
HOORAY Glenn Beck! Glenn Beck is OUTSTANDING!
Thanks so much for the post!!! I really like Glenn Beck but he scares me a little too!!!
Thanks for the report. I was interested in knowing how Glen’s forum went.
The folks that attended were very attentive and respectful (reminded me of the folks from the Tea Party rally in DC on Sept 12th). There was even a spontaneous humming/singing of “Amazing Grace” when the program was momentarily stopped for a medical emergency. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it again.
I believe that folks that see Glenn in person can tell he is speaking from his heart and truly believes what he is saying.
He does get choked up alot, but I can’t say that I didn’t get a little choked up a couple of times today.
I truly believe we live in historic times and that heroic efforts and sacrifices will be needed.
When he talked about the budget proposal that the team of experts is working on and what it will probably require....lots of sacrifice, ....there were many elderly folks in the audience on Social Security and I think they knew what he was saying.
Nothing I love more than Beck and Napolitano together.
Thanks for the link!
Another thing that I learned today... the Judge talked about how Lincoln jailed a bunch of northern journalist because they were considered a threat to national security. The Judge sighted several examples where President’s did things that were unconstitutional during times of war. But he said that the Constitution should be steadfast regardless of wartime or peacetime.
...northern journalist jailed....ahhh...even though my brain agrees this shouldn’t happen...I can fantasize about it, can’t I?
I am 34 year old single woman from Massachusetts. For the past year I've been listening to Glenn an taking his advice, educating myself on what it is to be an American, and preparing for the worst while watching the deconstruction of our country. I flew down to Florida to come to the revival and couple it with a visit to my Mother who moved down here many years ago, and I'm glad I did.
Today did not change me, it solidified who I am. Someone who believes in the truths that our country was founded on. Originally, I had doubted the message of “faith, hope and charity.” Myself, I was raised as a Catholic. Over the years I pulled away from the church but maintained my own spirituality and respect of G-d and his laws.
Every second of today's program was on point, inspirational and well received. Bravo, Glenn, bravo! There are no words, but the words that came from the presenter’s own mouths, to tell the story of the Republic we are a part of.
UCF was unprepared and disorganized, and that's all I'll say of the venue. But, every participant in today's revival was wonderful. I didn't hear a single complaint, and UCF did deserve many. We're in great company. Today renewed my faith in America and my fellow enlightened citizens.
Do you think people are going to be grateful for the entitlements in 4 years? Whaddayyathink?
I’m not a terribly religious person but I do have faith in God and the natural optimism it brings.
Beyond that I’m doing all I can to disengage from the whole system. I’ve minimized my debts, dumped the credit cards and I’m becoming as self reliant as I can. Living in a tiny close knit village doesn’t hurt either.
OK, where’s the ‘after action report’. Or was this it?
How much were the tickets? Everything I’ve looked up to see him other than on Fox News is WAAAAYYY out of my budget. He’s a great capitalist, but he should realize that a large portion of his audience is struggling with Øbamanomics.
Sorry to disappoint you....that was it. I am remembering bits and pieces as time passes....sorry, I’m not a note taker.
Thank you for posting. I am so jealous! Take what you learned and teach all who will listen.
Glenn’s goal, is like what he has said on his TV shows...educate folks, have them help prepare life boats, go out and educate others and bring them into the boats.
I guess that’s the biggie which I should have posted in my original post.
He also said we should learn how to do things like gardening, canning, stuff our grandparents knew how to do. We need to teach our children how to do this too.
I was a little surprised when I heard David Buckner say that he has a storage closet chocked full of food storage/supplies in his NY apartment. I wonder what NY city would be like if he ever needed these things. Won’t be pretty, that’s for sure.
Anyway...sorry for the random thoughts...
I think the tickets varied in price...maybe $60 to $120 range. I agree that it was expensive, but personally, I felt like it was worth the money. I know many folks that would have loved to gone to this, but couldn’t swing it financially with the economy the way it is...maybe he’ll video one of these and make it available.
I know that he’s said the Lincoln Memorial Rally that he is organizing will be partially funded by him personally if they don’t raise enough to cover the event.
I hope and pray he doesn’t wear himself out with all that he’s doing. He did say that we are time limited in stopping this craziness that’s going on in this country.
He’s doing his part....we have to do ours, too!
Did anyone advise him never to wear another horizontally striped “Where’s Waldo” sweater like he did on Friday?
Hmmmm....re: Supreme Court ruling on Health Care....I read here last night that because the States are bring the suit....it could happen VERY FAST....NOT 2.5 years....more like 2.5 weeks!
If you get to one of the cities and really want to go...email me...I will pay for your ticket!!
Your a good American!!! like a good Neighbor....I will be here!
God Bless
LOL edpc, I was thinking the same thing. That was not Glenn’s best color and the stripes made him look a little “fatty, fat, fat”. :-)
Heartfelt thanks to june2, celis and anyone else who went to his rally today. We await your impressions with bated breath! Is it true that Glenn is the real deal, cameras or not? That speaks to his character... I also heard from an audience participant on one of his shows that when you are talking, he listens as though you are the only person in the room.
Thanks for you report. I would have loved to have been there.
I'd like to ask if Thomas Jefferson was oft cited and mentioned by those who spoke?
David Barton spoke a little of Jefferson and noted that it’s funny how there were approximately 240 (what he considers) Founders, only a handful are known and emphasized. He talked that the exceptions rather than the rules are emphasized in our Founders....for example, he said that, yes there were slave owners among the Founders, but that most (i think he said over 70 percent) were not....and in fact many were abolishonist and fought slavery back then.
He also gave examples of what the state governments had encacted against slavery...I believe he said that in Massachusetts, that black folks had always been able to vote there.
It’s a shame that the exceptions to the rule are taught instead of the rule.
I am definitely going to get some of Barton’s material....need to hone up on my history.
Oh, and one other funny note(well it’s not really funny, sad yes, funny no).
I may not have the dates or numbers correct, but he said that Constitution Day is Sept 17th and that some schools are actually having students read the Constistution on that day. He also said that there was a resolution drafted in Congress to have all of Congress and staffers read the Constitution on Constitution Day and (pardon my memory) the chairman of whatever committee it was before, read the resolution and said it was the most ridiculous thing he had ever seen.
These are the folks writing our laws, after they took an oath to support, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States!
I had heard that Glenn Beck mentioned a candidate named Peg Dunmire and Glenn said she was running for Congress against Alan Grayson as a “Florida Tea Party Party” candidate. If this is true, please let me know.
You may have heard that there is now a so called “Florida Tea Party Party” registered in the state of Florida. This is true, but most do not know that those who managed to register that party are folks that patriots would have NOTHING to do with if they knew their backgrounds! It isn't well known yet, but it will be soon.
All I would like to know is if Glenn Beck actually did mention Peg Dunmire and the Tea Party Party of FL. If so, it tells me that Glenn sure did NOT check them out!!
will they ever air the UCF event on the tv show? I tivo’d all the shows and hoped to see it... no joy
Welcome to Free Republic!
On now. George Bernard Shaw wanted scientists to produce a gas to humanely exterminate people he thought were unfit and less desirable. I think I’ve seen this Beck show before....maybe he’s on break today.
So, what do Floridians and Americans do about the infiltrated tea parties? Florida’s tea partiers have been hijacked and that’s why Rubio got an odd question during his debate yesterday from a so called tea party rep. The GOP should be made aware of this and it might not be a bad idea to openly recruit tea partiers to just go GOP.
bttt
Glen is full of drama. We are used to milquetoast presentations. He used to sing a lot on his first show in Tampa. He can sing and clearly, he can act but he’s not making stuff up. It’s true and I’ve always thought he probably has ex-cia or super-nerds doing his research for him.
