Ailing Barbara Bush hospitalized for tests
By PAIGE HEWITT
HOUSTON CHRONICLE
March 28, 2010, 12:09AM

Excerpt:

Former first lady Barbara Bush, 84, was admitted to Methodist Hospital in Houston on Saturday for routine testing, said Jean Becker, chief of staff for former President George H.W. Bush.

“She really isn’t in any pain, and she’s in excellent spirits,” Becker said. “She just hasn’t been feeling like herself, and the doctor just decided the best thing would be to check her in. We definitely don’t think it’s serious. The doctors are just trying to pinpoint what’s going on.”

Bush’s husband drove her to the hospital.

The socialization of the USA obviously taking a toll.
To win the cold war only to surrender to the CPUSA without firing a shot can be pretty distressing to a patriot with half a brain.

“Bush’s husband drove her to the hospital.”

scary! :)

I noticed that, too. They don't live very far from Methodist Hospital, though.

I remember seeing Barbara driving on San Felipe (near their neighborhood in Houston) in around '94. I was getting all ticked off at this big blue car in front of me going real damn slow....when I was finally able to pass it, I looked over to glare and saw that it was Bar! So, I smiled and waved instead. LOL

I really hope she’s doing well. It’s always fun to see them in while watching Astros games on TV. It’s reassuring to see a them sitting in their seats behind home plate.

“Former Pres. George H.W. Bush DROVE her to the hospital”

That’s interesting. I wonder why they didn’t get one of the SS agents to drive them?

Amen to your prayers.

They are so cute. It is so obvious that he adores her. I remember him choking up the last time she was admitted to the hospital.

I love to see a man madly in love with his wife of many years. Shows great character!

Bush’s husband drove her to the hospital.

Bush's husband?

Actually, that's consistent with a line Mr. Bush has used many times since leaving office - saying he's no longer known as President Bush, but as Barbara's husband.

She is 84 years so this is not surprising. The Bush’s family is blessed with good genes so they should be able to live and prosper for another decade at least.

That's an amazing way to refer to a former president of the United states and leader of the free world.

"Bush’s husband drove her to the hospital."

This is why I love these people. This is how down to Earth and classy these people are, despite their old money background.

I remember once how George H.W. Bush described life back in Houston, how Barbara would drag him to the Wal-mart. Barbara would drive them in the station wagon and the Secret Service would follow in another vehicle.

Just ask yourself: Does Bill Clinton drive himself anywhere?

They are independent. Worth gazilions but they don’t want to be a drain on the taxpayers, contrast that with some other exes who use the SecSer as their personal servants.

I think both of you believe this should be in breaking news.

The first post that asked the question if it’s breaking news worthy...maybe that was posted before it was placed in breaking news?? Just guessing, I don’t know. Well, upon reading that later on, one might incorrectly interpret that as suggesting it isn’t breaking news worthy.

Then, when the statement was posted, “You’ve got to be kidding”, it might be that is open to interpretation that the second poster believed it shouldn’t be in breaking, when in fact his question meant he thought the first poster was against it being in breaking.
