This could do down as one of the more glaring MSM double-standards in recent times . . .
Today's Good Morning America continued the MSM hand-wringing over Sarah Palin tweeting that conservatives should "reload." But Harry Reid chose the day Palin was in his hometown to stage a photo-op of himself going shooting. And how did GMA characterize that? As Reid "being in the cross-hairs" and "doing his best not to seem threatened."
Imagine if the tables were turned and on a day Reid visited Wasilla, Palin had publicly chosen to go shooting. Oh, the MSM wailing and gnashing of teeth about the implied threat!

That’s a staged event. Why do you think cameras were there? Besides holding the gun in an awkward position, his finger is placed in the trigger ring, which is dangerous. Any gun owner will tell you never to put your finger in the trigger unless you have good reason to fire the weapon because having your finger in the trigger is the leading cause for pre-mature misfires.

Yes, I interpreted this as (basically) saying that while in town, Palin and Reid went ahuntin...or some such drivel.
Guess these little ‘quirky’ headlines are for the ‘just read the headline crowd’, and it worked for me, I probably would have IGNORED the story but the headline piqued my interest, as I had to see what could possibly be in her mind to be cavorting with Reid.
I guess that if she stayed overnight the headline would read
“PALIN AND REID SLEPT TOGETHER IN TOWN”
Sad thing is, these people eat it up......

I think the story makes an important point about the MSM double-standard. If Sarah Palin had gone shooting on a day Reid was in her hometown, the MSM would have gone nuts over the “implied threat,” etc.
