I truly believe that “very very soon” will be 10,000 or 100,000 years from now. Things will slowly get worse over an extreme period of time. Life is horrible.
You are so right - there is no reason to be in despair! Just the opposite!
Hallelujah - He brings us such joy - and our joy just increases as we contemplate His soon return!

God forgive me but I call them the angels of randomness. They protect some and let others die regardless of prayer or purpose.

The blessed hope of the return of Jesus Christ is meant as encouragement to us, yes.
And, we know what we are to be doing til He comes - OCCUPY.
Meaning, we are like the “underground army” in a “war” which is to OCCUPY where we are, doing His Will and following His Plan - as we prepare for the “great invasion” that is about to occur.
When the underground army occupies, we are in constant contact with our Commander.
We have a “secret” wavelength that the enemy cannot break into the code.
Its the Word of God and the Holy Spirit is the transfer mechanism.
Satan and his demons do not have access to that wavelength.
So, like the Nazi’s in WWII, they knew an invasion (D-Day was coming - but just not exactly where or when.
The troops who were gathering to invade did not know the day or the hour either. They did know the general time and as the day got closer, more and more of them knew the time was getting very close - and more and more knew pretty specifically about the “time” of the invasion but only a very very few - in fact maybe just one or two or three knew the exact day and hour when D-Day invasion would commence.
So the underground army (those who are alive on the earth when Jesus returns) occupies (does their usual and normal activities while preparing for His return)....
The “invasion force (all those who are believers in heaven with Jesus right now and all the angels and Jesus the Commander) are making ready also.
Nobody but the Father knows the exact day and hour! Not even our Commander Jesus knows it.
But they ALL know it is very soon and the closer it gets, the higher level the activity becomes and the greater the hope and anticipation of the great and glorious “deliverance” and “victory” which is about to take place.
The enemy likewise knows it’s near but don’t know where or when it will happen exactly. They sort of know some of what may happen and they know they don’t like it and don’t want it to happen, but they are powerless to stop it. All the enemy can do is sort of get all their big guns over here or over there and hope they guess right (which of course they don’t...LOL)
But, this is certain.
There IS an EXACT day and an EXACT hour during which THE INVASION will commence!
Now some in occupied territory get discouraged. Some of those in captivity or under the boot of the stormtroopers of the enemy have been waiting so long they have sort of decided “the invasion” is a good thought, it’s coming, but they have given up trying to think it might really be soon.
Others in this group really belong to the enemy anyway so they don’t want anybody to put their hope in the coming deliverance!
They, therefore, do everything they can - even as plants inside the ‘resistance underground’ - taking some into full captivity there - and spreading propaganda to discourage and distract and stomp out any talk or thoughts of the great HOPE (certainty) of the rescue force’s approaching invasion.
Now as part of the Father’s plan - the Commander of all invading forces is going to come with his forces FIRST to gather all who belong to Him OUT of enemy territory - before He actually invades in full force and glory to bring total victory!
ALL WHO BELONG TO THE COMMANDER WILL BE GATHERED UP TO BE WITH THEIR GREAT DELIVERER AND WITH ALL THE OTHERS WHO BELONG TO HIM in order to have their place in the final invasion force!
After “the good guys” are all taken out of enemy territory, of course the enemy is going to be going a bit crazy and full of anger and will terrorize those left - and all hell breaks out in the nations in captivity.
But despite the worst that the enemy can do (and the enemy commander who takes charge during this time is quite fierce and has the power to kill and will kill any of those left who don’t do what he says)...many will figure out what has happened to those who were “caught away” and will turn to side with THEIR commander instead of with the enemy.
As they do this, of course, they will be murdered by the millions by the one who is enraged and trying to stop what he can never stop! Even those murders don’t help the enemy because those martyred members of the King’s beloveds will go immediately into the presence of their Deliverer - and will be given special clothing and a special place in the invasion force that is almost ready for the final action.
Those who do not side with the soon coming King of Kings will suffer terribly during the time before the great invasion and will long to be dead but will not be able to end their lives - just as they will not be able to end the hell that awaits them after the great invasion takes place....but they will hear more about that at the Great Judgement (white throne) - which will be set up AFTER the Victory is accomplished!
One very good thing is that the King knows exactly how long this terrible time will last and communicated that “secret” to His forces in enemy territory - in order to give everyone hope and knowledge about the “time” of His Return.
The horrible time will last 7 years exactly.
Finally, oh my, the day and the hour will arrive and the Father will tell His Son, the King of Kings, to go and do the great invasion with ALL His forces as the final day dawns and the great Victory is finally accomplished in the enemy territory!!!
After the great battle ends, and the enemy is destroyed, the King will go about taking care of all the other issues - cleaning up the mess, setting up His post-victory government, putting his assorted rulers into place (who will be those who were alive when He came and did that “great snatch away”....plus those martyred during that horrible time.....so these all will be ruling and reigning with the King.
Again, it is not a secret how long the aftermath of the great Victory will last...how long the reconstruction will take. It will take 1000 literal years. Everyone in on the plan knows this. (well some were not sure that time was exactly 1000 regular years or even if the reconstruction would occur - but that’s ok - they will still have a part in it!)
After that reconstruction time, of course, there will be some final issues to take care of. But when all that is accomplished - the King ushers in the final final plan which is to create a totally new “territory” - a new heaven and a new earth....for all of His beloveds to have as their “playground” for all eternity!
Well that is not a perfect analogy - but if it helps anybody - then good.

I’m aware of all that you pointed out, I just don’t assume the creation of Israel began that terminal generation. Maybe it did. I just don’t see any reason to assume it did.
You stated *the resurrection* without specifying.
Believers are going to be taken out of the world before the tribulation, not after. Of course Christians who have died must be resurrected for all believers to be raptured, but you’re conflating the resurrections and when they occur.
But recognizing that the dead in Christ must be resurrected first in order for all believers to be taken up into the air, does not mean that the rapture happens after the tribulation. You’re reading way more into that than is said.

And you are talking out of both sides of your mouth here. God tells us a lot in Scripture that we'd otherwise not know. No *pre-tribbers* ever claimed that the resurrection of the dead in Christ didn't happen before the rapture.
They claim that the resurrection preceding the rapture will be totally invisible and unknown! If that were true, then Paul would not have needed to mention it.
Not true. Since it is true, Paul DID need since there would be no other way of knowing it. It will be invisible because it happens in *the twinkling of an eye*, IOW so fast that you can't see it. And the resurrection of the dead in Christ would be unknown anyway, even if all the unbelievers see the believers disappear in front of their very eyes. There would be no reason for them to presume that the dead also went.

The elect can also mean Israel.
Actually Israel was not “created” in 1948.
It was regathered into it’s national location on that date.
God had scattered His People into all the world after the 70AD destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD which Jesus specifically predicted.
But even scattered they remained “His People” or “His Nation”.
But they were scattered.
In 1948 they were regathered into their God given land just as He told them over and over and over again that He would do!

The elect can also mean Israel.
And that makes more sense as the whole tribulation period revolves around them. The Jews will be left on earth to go through it and if the days were not cut short, they wouldn’t survive.
Ha - you mean when Jesus returns to set up His Kingdom - when He comes to bring an end to the conflict and the time of God’s Wrath?
Will you have a “vote” in that Kingdom?
Um. No. It will not be a “Republic” apparently it will be a “Kingdom”.
However, there will be real freedom because at the end of the 1000 years, there will arise some “rebels” who decide they don’t like the reign of the King and His “administrators”.....
So when Satan is let loose from the abyss for a short while at that time, he will lead these rebels to the final final battle against the King and His ruling forces only to be wiped out in an instant, and then that old serpent is finally cast permanently into the Lake of Fire....never ever to arise again.
How does that sound to you?
If you come to Jesus NOW you will be one of those who will be ruling and reigning with Jesus and will have a lot of ‘sayso’ in how things are governed during that 1000 year reign of King Jesus! ...how does that sound?

God has warned us more than enough about the consequences of our sin and He's the one who commands us to repent to avoid that bad end. If you don't consider that a valid reason to repent, then you need to take it up with God.
You tell Him that warning people about hell isn't a good reason for them to repent and turn to Christ.

Oh. Well. Angels do not DECIDE who lives or dies of course.
God is sovereign and only HE makes those decisions.
Angels only carry out the Father’s Will, the Son’s will, and the will of those who belong to them.
So your argument is not with the angels but with God.
And He is not bothered that you have these concerns. He asks that you come to Him and talk with Him about it.
He will show you, longs to show you, and help you to understand the concerns you have - how come all of this pain, how come the death, the horrors of life here on earth for so many, etc.
He says if we lack wisdom, or seek wisdom, all we have to do is to ask Him for it and He will give it to us.

I'm not much for controlling and forcing my ideas on another man or woman on what they should value or believe. Each person is an individual and using the force of government or a peer group to bend them all into preconceived forms and ideas stifles the potential of each.
So dangling the promise power over over others by being a ruler over others makes me ill.
The purpose of government is to prevent citizens and invaders from harming the governed. Nothing else.
Kinda hard to warn them about Hell if they don’t believe in Hell. This “Jesus is coming soon” stuff has been going on since the 1st century. It is hardly news.
If the watchmen knew when the thief was coming, he would be ready. But he doesn’t know.
So making that claim about Jesus coming is a lot like lying. You really don’t know if Jesus is coming soon. I believe it is called “Lying for the Lord” in some churches.
If you get someone “Saved” because you told them Jesus’ return was imminent and Jesus doesn’t return, you may have just cost someone their soul.
Spend some time on this site. You’ll learn some really effective witness tools that can get people to face their sin.
