Screams in the smoke as Moscow rush hour turned to horror
Times Online ^ | 3/29/10 | Catherine Philp

Amid the jostling crowds squeezing their way on to the packed train at Lubyanka, no one gave the silent, bulkily dressed woman a second glance. It was minutes before 8 o’clock and she was just one of the seven million passengers due on the Moscow Metro that day.

Seconds later, before the train had left the station platform, she detonated her explosives, sending glass and twisted metal ripping through the carriage and filling the air with screams and smoke.

[. . . snip . . .]

One man, the boyfriend of a woman seriously injured in the blast, swore vengeance against all Muslims and showed off blood on his hands that he claimed had come from punching a Muslim passer-by in the face.

“I am going to kill one of them. A Tajik, an Azerbajani, it does not matter, they are all the same,” he spat at journalists gathering in Lubyanka Square. “War is going to begin.”

I could learn to love Russians if they keep talking like that.

I am very skeptical about anything that happens in Russia involving terrorist attacks, "separatists," etc. As I've posted on threads like this in the past:

The same "neo-conservative" cheerleaders who have been the most ardent supporters of the so-called War on Terror have had a strong interest in the Russia-Chechnya conflict . . . but on the side of the Chechens. Do some online research on an organization called the American Committee for Peace in Chechnya, and you'll find a whole bunch of interesting names associated with it.

They changed their name to the American Committee for Peace in the Caucasus shortly after the Beslan massacre -- probably because people were starting to ask a lot of questions about what their agenda really is.

Some very interesting information linked here:

“War is going to begin.”

The West at war with Islam? Yeah, right! The Leftists in power in the West will see to it that doesn’t ever happen.

Come on now. It is only the 70% of the extremists which make the other 30% of moderate Muslims look bad. < / sarcasm >

Putin will investigate and send his goons. Whoever he tags as an instigator will wish he or she had never been born.

Thanks for that. Had never seen it before. Those folks have it exactly backward. It’s true Russia is a great threat to us still. But Islam is an order of magnitude more threatening, imo. Bookmarked for future reference.

Why would a muslim want to immigrate to Russia? To commit terrorist acts.

Putin needs to see this terrorism for what it is, and align with the West. His reluctance to take Iran to task is nothing if not plain suicidal.

The military build-up. The rhetoric. The guy’s got his head firmly implanted. His people and our people have much more in common that he wants to admit. And it’s self-defeating to go at each other like he seems to favor.

Siding with China is just more of the same. China will come knocking on his door, if it ever does best the U.S. And this guy should be bright enough to figure that out for himself.

If there is a war between the free West and Islam, which side will Obama be on?

I’m still waiting for Russian revenge for the murder of hundreds of schoolchildren in Beslan in 2004. It never came. Instead Russia attacked Orthodox Christian Georgia unprovoked. So Russia is going to keep getting attacked as long as they keep coddling the jihadists and persecuting Christians.

Putin made a lot of pronouncements after the muslims slaughtered school children at Breslin, but he didn’t follow through. Let’s see what he does now.

To be fair, some Muslims “immigrated” to the USSR when the Soviet tanks rolled into town.

Perhaps some prayers are in order for those injured
in these attacks and their families.

Dear Lord, protect and succor those innocents killed
and wounded in these attacks and their families, help
the Russian people to face their real enemies. amen.

Shamil Basayev, who carried out the Beslan massacre, was trained, equipped, and assisted by Russia as he waged jihad against the Christian nation of Georgia in 1992 and 1993. Russia created, trained and armed the animal Basayev and he bit the hand that fed him.

Has Putin made a speech about this attack? Such attacks must be stopped cold. Our prayers are with the families of the fallen.
Note: Russia started to become part of the west when they went from Communism and back to God.

The thing that seems more like it was Putin's equivalent of the Reichstag Fire was the 1999 apartment bombings. That was also the theory of Alexander Litvinenko, the guy that was killed by polonium.

MALMO, Sweden

Marcus Eilenberg is a Swedish Jew whose family roots in Malmo run deep. His paternal grandparents were Holocaust survivors who found shelter in this southern Swedish city in 1945. His wife’s parents fled to Sweden from communist Poland in the 1960s.

Now the 32-year-old law firm associate feels the welcome for Jews is running out, and he is moving to Israel with his wife and two children in May. He says he knows at least 15 other Jews who are leaving for a similar reason.

That reason, he says, is a rise in hate crimes against Jews in Malmo, and a sense that local authorities have little desire to deal with a problem that has exposed a crack in Sweden’s image as a bastion of tolerance and a haven for distressed ethnic groups.

Anti-Semitic crimes in Europe have usually been associated with the far right, but Shneur Kesselman, an Orthodox rabbi, says the threat now comes from Muslims.

“In the past five years I’ve been here, I think you can count on your hand how many incidents there have been from the extreme right,” he said. “In my personal experience, it’s 99 percent Muslims.”

Sweden prides itself on having taken in tens of thousands of the world’s war refugees. About 7 percent of Malmo’s 285,000 people were born in the Middle East, according to city statistics, and the city has large numbers from the Balkans, including the Macedonian who heads the city’s largest mosque. After the Holocaust, it took in many Jews who survived the World War II Nazi genocide.

Malmo police say that of 115 hate crimes reported in 2009, 52 were anti-Semitic. Bejzat Becirov, the mosque head, estimated there are about 60,000 Muslims in Malmo. But the number of Jews is about 700 and shrinking - it was twice as big two decades ago, according to Fredrik Sieradzki, a spokesman for the Jewish community.

Last year at least 10 of the hate-crime complaints were filed by Mr. Kesselman, from the Brooklyn-based Chabad-Lubavitch movement, whose black fedora and long beard single him out as he moves around the city.

Walking home from the Jewish community center on Malmo’s snow-flecked streets, the 31-year-old rabbi recalls some of the worst incidents: a young man who shouted “Heil Hitler” and chased him off a city bus; a car that suddenly reversed and almost hit him on the crosswalk by the opera house.

Hey, even a backwater sh*thole like Russia is better than the sh*thole countries which they create where they are the majority.

The only exceptions are the oil producing countries where they are swimming in money, and those are growing fewer.

No, I am saying that many Muslims became “immigrants” of the USSR when Soviet tanks rolled into town and made where they were living part of the USSR.

Similarly many Latvians and Estonians didn't so much “immigrate” to the USSR, as the USSR “immigrated”, via tanks, over them.

"The self-confessed mastermind of the siege, Chechen warlord Shamil Basayev, was killed in July. He had claimed that the Russian security services bore responsibility for the carnage. Basayev said a security service agent had been sent to the rebels to persuade them to carry out an attack in North Ossetia's capital, Vladikavkaz. According to Basayev, the agent then tipped off the rebels about a plan to ambush them, allowing them to switch their attack to Beslan. He said the gunmen were allowed to enter the region with ease because the security services were planning to capture them in Vladikavkaz." - BBC
