judge has lifted a temporary restraining order on a never-enforced Illinois law requiring that a girl's guardians be notified before she has an abortion, but that doesn't mean the law takes effect right away.
Cook County Judge Daniel Riley on Monday also approved a stay, or grace period, to let appeals be worked through in the case.
The law requires doctors to notify the guardians of a girl 17 years old or younger 48 hours before the girl gets an abortion.
Riley says the law is "an unfortunate piece of legislation" that discriminates between minors who choose to give birth and those who choose to have an abortion.
But the judge also found the law constitutional.

They don’t want the parents to know, but want to put the information into a computer about a zillion people and anyone with a basic knowledge of hacking can get to immediately...
Discrimation? Does that mean ANY law that has an age limit is "discriminatory", you asshat?
Liberals will not be happy until parents cede their rights at birth. We are responsible for what our children do but apparently we have no right to know what they do. I’m hoping the newly re-awakened America restores parents rights along with some sanity in our government.
Can you imagine what it is like living in this insane asylum called Illinois?
Libtard state; thank God I don’t live there.

I’ve lived in Illinois my entire life. I’m now 49. What you have to understand about Illinois is that 95% of the state is completely normal. Our problem is that 70% of the population live in 5% of the area (Chicago and its outlying areas). They rule over the rest of us, imposing their will and their corruption on all of us. Why don’t I leave? Our family is here, our children are settled, my business is here and can’t be moved. If I left, I would have to start over, which I have no desire to do at my age. Downstate and southern Illinois where I am from is so different than Chicago it is unbelievable. Where I was born is closer to Memphis, Tenn, than it is to Chicago! We have nothing in common with Chicago. I dearly wish this state could split into two separate states.
Sounds like mn!
You can’t get a tattoo or your ears pierced without parental consent.
“You cant get a tattoo or your ears pierced without parental consent.”
wow. but applying that to an abortion is somehow taking away her rights. amazing.
Same thing goes with every other liberal state, and is why the Founders designed the Constitution the way they did. California and NY both have their militia territories. Poor people get packed together into the cities and rely on entitlements. That is the entire liberal motive for entitlements.
