Al Sharpton Insists He Saw The Phantom Tape
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | Joseph Klein

Posted on 03/30/2010 8:27:58 AM PDT by Michael van der Galien

During the sparring session last night between Rev. Al Sharpton and Bill O’Reilly on “The Factor,” Sharpton claimed that he saw the much bally-hooed tape of Tea Party protesters outside the Capitol building hurling the “n” word at black congressmen. The only problem is that such a tape most likely does not exist. Nor are there any credible witnesses whom have come forward to substantiate the charge. When confronted by O’Reilly, Sharpton started to back away from his claim that he actually saw a tape of the alleged incident.

Reminiscent perhaps of Sharpton’s trumpeting of the infamous Tawana Brawley rape allegations, which turned out to be a hoax?

The Left and its allies in the mainstream media are using the race card in an effort to de-legitimize the opposition to President Obama, particularly as that opposition is reflected in the Tea Party movement. The main issues animating this movement have nothing to do with race. They revolve around fiscal responsibility, limited government and reliance on private enterprise. Tea party activists are united by opposition to a mammoth federal government engaged in run-away spending.

There may be a few bigots who attach themselves to the fringe of the Tea Party movement (as there are nuts attaching themselves to other movements on the Left and the Right), but a lunatic fringe does not define the Tea Party movement’s core beliefs nor the attitudes of the majority of its members. The conservative leaders whom the Left charges with inciting violence – for example, Glenn Beck – have repeatedly urged precisely the opposite. Beck has called for protest on the model of Ghandi and Martin Luther King. His hero is George Washington.

The Democrats are intentionally and calculatedly slandering the Tea Party movement. Shall we blame the entire Democratic Party anytime a Democrat says something bigoted or stupid? That’s the standard they’re applying.

If Sharpton has access to a tape showing the N word being used then he must really hate blacks since Breitbart has offered $100,000 for the United Negro College Fund for a copy of it. I guess Sharpton isn't concerned about the education of blacks. OR...he's just another lying democrat.

Al Sharpton has lied in the past. And he’s made racially offensive slurs directed at Jews.

He has no gravitas.

No one shouted the n word. With all those cameras around, someone would have caught it and it would be on YouTube. No one spit on purpose, and Al Sharpton of all people should know that. The guy was shouting, and some spittle ensued. What’s ironic about this is, now that I have HDTV, I see much more than I’d like to on my teevee screen, including Al Sharpton doing the exact same thing in his interview with O’R. He can’t seem to talk without doing it, and it’s gross.

I’m sitting here thinking the same thing. Sharpless and his ilk need to be IGNORED and not taken for someone having good sense. Only then will they go away.

O’Reilly did a good job of holding Rev. Al in check. I know a lot of folks don’t like BOR and sometimes I’m one of ‘em, but his earned his money last night. Rev. Al tried the usual insinuations and guilt-by-association trickery but BOR nailed him hard every time. It was like he was channelling Rush, until the point where BOR had to babble on about how he believed Cleaver to be trustworthy.

I expected O’Reilly to get rolled, but he was a “stand up guy” ;-)
