Military Husband Probed for Allegedly Posting Threats on Radical Web Site
Fox News ^ | 3/30/2010 | Jana Winter

Posted on 03/30/2010 11:03:57 AM PDT by GregNH

The husband of a military servicewoman living on a Tennessee Naval base is under investigation for posting threatening comments on a radical right-wing Web site, FoxNews.com has learned.

Investigators with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service have seized the man's shotgun and taken it to the armory at the Naval Support Activity Mid-South base in Millington, Tenn. The firearm will be will be stored there while the agency's probe continues.

The man, writing under the name "ACA," posted a comment last week in response to a story on the expanding role of the IRS under the new health care law. The story was posted on infowars.com, which is operated by conservative talk-show host Alex Jones.

In response to comments made by a poster who questioned others' commitment to violence against government workers, "ACA" wrote:

"THEN I WILL ( I here by threatn you with violence) if you come to my door [address removed] see if im joking! and as for you BEN what dose it look like? you living in it right now! IVAN go buy a gun and get some practice in... ..."

There was an “antifascist” group who came to the US from Canada to riot in Toledo.

Among the “fascists” they called out on their site were President Bush and Freerepublic.com.

The media blacked out all national coverage of the bomb and kidnapping plots at the 2008 RNC convention.

The media’s selective coverage is not “journalism”. It is a partisan witchhunt.

A big push for immigration reform, the censoring of political dissent, cap & trade...

The marxists in government & the media are feeling froggy after their big health care "win", hard to tell which issue they'll try to slide thru next. Maybe all at once.

Why would FOX get involved?

On Monday morning, NCIS agents and base security located "ACA" at the address ? a privately owned on-base housing unit ? that he posted in his recent comment on infowars.com. He admitted to posting the comment, said base spokesman David Crenshaw. The man's name was not revealed.

"Based on the statements, the installation commanding officer requested that the resident surrender any weapons to base security for safekeeping until an investigation could be completed. The resident was cooperative and complied with the request," Crenshaw said.

"The Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the Installation Security Team are conducting an investigation into the statements to determine if there was any criminal wrongdoing."

This action was taken after FoxNews.com inquired about the online comment.

I hate when Jones aligns himself with issues we care about. The uninformed look at that and assume he is right wing.

Why would FOX get involved?

You would not want to be responsible for a violent post on your forum if the perp actually goes out and does something.

Make them visit 1 million doors of 1 million people making threatening comments! Overload the system and bring it crashing down. At some point they will over compensate and start tipping those on the edge over into radical opposition. Our numbers will swell and we WILL crush them.

I wonder this myself, if this website is considered radical? Who determines a website is radical? I seen comments on this website that are similar, are they being probed. Does that make me vulnerable to being probed as well, because I visit this site almost daily among other websites?

These IRS enforcement officers and other government moves really frighten me, and have me and other Americans scared. So, does people like us voicing our concerns about these things make us ripe to be probed?

Infowars is not rightwing, it’s a conspiracy nutcase website.

I used to think that also. Alex Jones mainly preaches that we are in the midst of a global communist government takeover. Doesn't look to be much of a conspiracy or that crazy anymore.

It'd be far more crazy to try and defend the idea that we have a law abiding, functioning constitutional republic and that we don't have a serious communist problem in our government, media and academia.

On many military installations, base housing has been outsourced to private developers.

The developers either renovate existing housing or build from scratch (on base) and lease to the military.

Alex Jones is a 9/11 troofer.

He’s like a mad dog in my book. Gets it right part of the time, very wrong part of the time, and people with foam flying from the mouth repulse me. So I go out of my way never to see/listen to/read his words. I read/heard enough. He also seems to be on a major “look at ME” trip.

To tell the truth, I get most of my news on FR. I never listen to radio (hard to get where I live with my puny cheap radio) and don’t have a TV. So I do not know the answer to that question. I also have little to no use for Glen Beck. I loathe drama queens who want attention centered on themselves. Nothing sucks viewers in like emotions and truth mixed with other stuff.

Yeah, he screwed up. Hope it doesn't cost his wife her career but if she has a security clearance, she'll probably lose it. And if her rate requires a security clearance, she'll lose that as well. And if the navy can't find an under-manned rate that doesn't require a security clearance to transfer her to, she'll be shown the door.
