Youngstown congressman cancels meeting when protesters appear Wednesday, March 31, 2010 10:02 AM
THE (YOUNGSTOWN) VINDICATOR
YOUNGSTOWN -- A congressman canceled an informational meeting on the new health care law because of security concerns.
Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan scheduled the meeting yesterday in Youngstown but called it off because his office was concerned about inadequate security.
About 15 demonstrators, including Tea Party members, had showed up to protest the wide-ranging health care overhaul signed into law last week.
Ryan's office says the meeting wasn't intended as a political forum and will be rescheduled.
Oh, for Pete’s sake. Fifteen people?
I bet he had to go home and change his pink panties after he cancelled.
How can it not be considered a political forum? LOL
It was informational and not a "forum". Got it?
And then toss in some paranoid partisan hysteria about "adequate security".
And the Left STILL claims that McCarthyism was unfounded even after proof of Soviet influence had been uncovered. Fight the smears.
A typical leftist pi$$ ant. Only a liberal could feel safer in DC!!!
15 angry old farts with posters, and he’s skeered
And since when is any public meeting not a “political forum”
He expected to read them the obama talking points while they said “Thank You Sir may we have another””
These dems can run but they can’t hide- unless he intends to campaign from a TV screen like the wizard of Oz
It would have been a political forum, had the Tea Party not shown up. 15? I thought all these wimps had SEIU protectors. Call the Nazi Pelozi wambulance.
This is the first of many excuses for Representatives to hide from there constituents. They are quite aware they done us dirty, and do not wish to be confronted on it.
I think I’m actually seeing this out of rank and file libs, as well -
they know they’ve really messed up the country this time.
LOL, I know! Absolutely absurd.
Profiles In Courage! /s
I think there are many who would want Traficant back The guy was a flake, but he had guts.
OMG this is hysterical. 15 protesters? Including-—GASP!-—Tea Party members? Those eeevil, racist, violent Tea Party members.
run commie run ... The politburo is a bunch of chickens.
“I think Im actually seeing this out of rank and file libs, as well -
they know theyve really messed up the country this time.”
Not just rank and file, either. I ran into my Democrat/on the doll/full ride public assistance neighbors today, and I fully expected them to be behind healthcare reform. They were as depressed and worried as hell. More so than I have ever seen them. Even the CNN/welfare crowd knows it is screwed. There may yet be hope.
He voted as a conservative 85% of the time. I loved the guy.
It’s funny, my libinlaw was acting really nervous this past week, avoiding talking to us, etc.
I’m not even sure if she understands that it’s not “free healthcare” yet or not.
Healthcare reform is one bill even the far left non-politician liberals are paying close attention to. There are no doubt a few that still think it’s going to be free healthcare—I think Rush was talking about such a case last week—but most have realized it is a disaster in the making. Why the polls aren’t even worse I don’t know. Finding somebody who likes this thing is harder than winning the lottery.
Our congresscritter, Ike skelton is so afraid, he won’t appear on local radio.
Just how does one become a "Tea Party member?" This media template is becoming obvious. We should not play into their hands. The phenomenon of ordinary citizens demanding their constitutional liberties should be called "The Patriot Movement" and not the Tea Party. This is no political party.
Boy they run lije little girls when someone questions them? Not a great way to get re elected buddy.
Well then they are going to have a very hard time campaigning because many will follow them where ever they go to ask questions.
This is great news!
As Thomas Jefferson once said, “When the people fear the government you have tyranny, when the government fears the people you have liberty.”
Sounds like liberty is just around the corner.
He also said, “When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes required.”
Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan sits to pee.
I think Utube has a lot of his one minute* beam me up Scotty* speeches..hysterical
Notice also the timing of the trip to Afghanistan, the announcement today on offshore drilling, the signing yesterday of the reconciliation bill where the emphasis was not on health care, but on student loans. They want to talk about anything BUT Obamacare.
Traficant should run as a Republican ! If he runs as an independent, he would split the non-democrat vote !
The libs would automatically tie that to The Patriot Act.
I always loved Jim’s weasel-like hair pieces.
Yep. Standby for immigration, more Israel trashing and the planting of Michelle's White House garden.
gotta feed the commie lib local hosts over at WKBN radio some red meat about those “violent right-wing extremists”
Has to kill the local hosts that WKBN runs Rush.
Beam me up, Scotty!!!
I truly hope each of the congress and senate critters are nervous.
Hold them ALL acountable for their bribes and votes.
But the cowardly Congressman's lying lackeys said “the meeting wasn't intended as a political forum”.
hysterical, I think he took pride in his hair piece...LOL
Somehow I doubt Traficant would have run away from 15 of his constituents.
By showing up. There is no way to avoid being the target of Liberal lies.
We're not 'playing into their hands' unless we stay home.
awwwwwwwww, him got all wee wee’d up did he? Just wait until he campaigns...........wonder if they really gave that much thought. It’s kinda hard to get elected if you can’t get your crappy message out.
