They may soon be the Fatwah Lions..............
I think I will cut the guy a break. He probably forgot it.
No one is stupid enough to think they are going to get some pieces of metal and wood, with brass insert through a detector.
Dallas Cowboys head coach did the same dumb thing back in mid 90’s. Got him the nickname of “Gunsmoke”. He got fired when it became appearent he was so dumb he couldn’t coach either.
I imagine his first words were, “Don’t you know who I am?”
These were followed by, “April Fools! Just wanted to let you security folks have a little excitement for a change. Heh, heh. Can’t take a joke, huh? Well then eff you, you mother effers!”
Both Cleveland airports are armed at all times, but Rogers was at Hopkins International.
Here is the best part. Shawn Rogers said he forgot the gun was in his luggage....
Hey, I’ve got one. Can we forget to put the check with our tax return in 2 weeks???
It’s referred to as an oxyMORON!!!
He used to live across the street from me when we lived in Dearborn. He was a nice neighbor.

Browns nose tackle Shaun Rogers was arrested Thursday at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport when TSA officials said Rogers had a handgun in his carry-on luggage as he went through a security checkpoint.
At 12:15 p.m., Rogers carry-on luggage was being inspected at Concourse-C when officials found a loaded 45 caliber handgun, according to a news release from the Cleveland Police Department.
He was arrested without incident. He could face charges of carrying a concealed weapon, a third-degree felony, according to police.
Cleveland Police spokesman Sgt. Sammy Morris said Rogers remained in jail Thursday night.
Rogers told police he forgot the gun was in his bag, according to a report on WOIO-TV 19. He has a license to carry a concealed weapon, but the license is for Michigan, not Ohio, according to reports. Rogers could face prison time if convicted.
About three hours after the arrest, Browns president Mike Holmgren issued a statement through the teams media relations department.
We are aware of what transpired with Shaun Rogers, Holmgren said. We will continue to gather further information, and until the legal process has taken its course, we will reserve further comment.
Rogers could ultimately face a reprimand from the NFL if he is charged.
League by-laws in accordance with the NFL Players Association make it clear a player could be found in violation of the NFLs personal conduct policy even if he is not convicted.
Rogers suffered a broken leg in the 11th game last season and finished the year on injured reserve. He made 36 tackles and two sacks in 2009. He also blocked a field goal and two extra points. Rogers had 4.5 sacks and 73 tackles in 2008, his first season with the Browns.
During the NFL Scouting Combine in February, Browns general manager Tom Heckert said Rogers was progressing from the injury and working out at the complex in Berea. Heckert said he expected Rogers to be ready for the mandatory minicamp in June.
Rogers was the subject of trade rumors before the start of free agency, but those rumors quieted after Corey Williams was traded to the Lions.
Rogers career with the Browns got off to a rosy start in 2008 under Romeo Crennel, but then soon after Eric Mangini replaced Crennel things started going sour. Rogers and Mangini were at the Cleveland Sports Awards program in February 2009, and Rogers said he felt slighted when Mangini did not walk over to shake his hand. Rogers reacted by asking to be traded, but he and Mangini solved their differences to the point where they had a good working relationship last year.
Ahtyba Rubin would be the starting nose tackle if the Browns part with Rogers. The backup would be Brian Schaefering.
The incident involving Rogers is the latest in a rash of tales involving athletes and guns.
* Former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress is in prison for carrying a loaded gun into a Manhattan night club; the gun went off and Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg.
* More recently, Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas was sentenced to 30 days in a halfway house for carrying unloaded guns into the locker room.
* Cavaliers guard Delonte West faces weapons charges after he was arrested in September in Maryland, when police say he was on the Capital Beltway with two loaded handguns, a loaded shotgun and an 81⁄2 inch Bowie knife.
It's the infamous "I forgot defense"
Shades of Barry Switzer.
It happens more than most of us think, at least according to a few criminal defense attorneys that specialize in gun law. Jon Gutmacher claims to be - sometimes - able to get the charge dropped on the grounds of complete and total stupidity, which is evidenced by the fact that the defendant put a bag containing a handgun into an X-ray machine designed to look for handguns.
Why would such a MASSIVE guy need a gun anyway? No one is going to mess with him in the first place.
There is no known cure for Stupidity.
Yes, I’m sure when the Browns get rid of him, he’s got a job waiting for him in Obama’s new army somewhere.
Because if I was an airport in Cleveland I'd want to armed at all times, too.
In fact, I know one of the Iraq-veteran undercover armed guys. I’ve asked him what he does besides walking around in civilian clothes and he says, “Can’t tell you.” I ask him if it involves weapons. He says, “Can’t tell you.” I say, “I bet you have a lot of good stories.” He says, “Yes, but I can’t tell you any.”
