Skip to comments.Limbaugh responds to Obama: 'Never in my life have I seen a regime like this'
Posted on 04/02/2010 7:22:47 AM PDT by MaestroLC
In his new interview with CBS, President Obama refers to the "troublesome" talk and "vitriol" of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. "Keep in mind that there have been periods in American history where this kind of vitriol comes out," Obama says. "It happens often when you've got an economy that is making people more anxious, and people are feeling like there is a lot of change that needs to take place. But that's not the vast majority of Americans. I think the vast majority of Americans know that we're trying hard, that I want what's best for the country."
I asked Limbaugh what he thought about the president's comments. His program's popularity is undeniably soaring now, but has it risen and fallen with economic anxiety -- that is, was he less popular during times of economic security and more popular in times of economic worries? Since Limbaugh has been broadcasting nationally for more than 20 years, there ought to be some sort of pattern, if what Obama says is accurate.
"I have yet to have a down year at the EIB Network," Limbaugh responds. "I and most Americans do not believe President Obama is trying to do what's best for the country. Never in my life have I seen a regime like this, governing against the will of the people, purposely. I have never seen the media so supportive of a regime amassing so much power. And I have never known as many people who literally fear for the future of the country."
The point, Limbaugh says, is not that listeners are feeling anxiety about the economy, although many undoubtedly are. It's that they are feeling anxiety about the Obama agenda.
Rush is right, as usual.
Rush is right. This regime is not listening to the will of the people!!! I feel we are living in very dangerous times and Washington has turned a deaf ear to us...So now we are yelling, protesting, and making plans to take back our country in the voting booth...
Amen to that.
Great quote by Rush.
OT: During Thursday's program, did Rush mention where he went on his extended weekend trip?
Rush is right. Yeah, the economy is really shaky, but my greatest concern is for what Obama is going to do to our country. After so many years of listening to Wright preach “God D*mn America” and worse, why would anyone think he would do anything that would help our country? And why couldn’t the voters see this back when it would count? Can you get grape juice out of a lemon? Why would people think they could? You’re going to get plain, bitter lemon juice. That’s what we’re seeing now.
Rush is spot-on!
Rush Limbaugh is racist. /sarc
Obama wants what is “right for the country” according to the liberal agenda. Not what is right based on any moderate or conservative viewpoints, but only from the LIBERAL point of view.
The bottom line is that Obama, Pelosi, etc. are too liberal for the mainstream of America as they pursue their agenda. They want this country to be more left than it is.
In spite of electing Obama and Democratic congresses, America overall is a center/right country, politically, socially, and economically.
Obama would know all about vitriol, having kept company with the lovely Ayers/Dohrn couple, and listening to Wright for 20 yrs.
If Obama’s approval ratings keep falling, he will be an anchor on MSNBC.
Bammy, It’s all about your Socialism.
I have seen a bunch. Cuba, Nicaragua, Soviet Union, Venezuela etc.
Tell it like it are, Rushbo!
Limbaugh responds to Obummer: ‘Never in my life have I seen a gimmee gimmee gimmee regime like this’
No. No real mention of it at all. Infact, some of us regular show threaderz were concerned that he sounded down. Unhappy. Not his usual self.
Ordinarily a ‘call out’ from Barky would enthuse elRushbo...maybe this interview happened after the show. I dunno...my mom senses were ‘on’ the MajaRushie yesterday.
“”I think the vast majority of Americans know that we’re trying hard, that I want what’s best for the country.”””
You have got to know Obama and the Democrats are in deep trouble when they start believing their own Press Releases.
Furthermore, Obama has to be a real doofus in picking a fight with Rush Limbaugh. Such a fight is a positive for Limbaugh and a negative for Obama. I call this a lose-lose proposition.
I look forward to hearing Rush every day.
I can remember his program on 1/20/09, Obama’s crowning day of triumph. I was so down, his words gave me hope.
Everything Rush has said about Zero has come true.
Obama is a Marxist, and dangerous. He will not stop unitl the American people take away his power.
The last peaceful chance we have to do this is on November 2, 2010.
That’s only 7 months away.
That’s 7 months to demolish his lies and to expose the Democrats as the anti-American Communists that they truly are.
We have to speak up to our, friends, neighbors and co-workers, becasue the future of our families and theirs is on the line.
The year 2010 is a milestone year in American history—make no mistake about it.
Those in the futuer will look back and either say “Why didn’t they stop this when it was so easy?” or “Thank God patrotic Americans preserved our freedoms!”
The clock is ticking—and the choice is ours.
To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women.
Rush is correct...we haven’t been this scared since the Cuban missile crisis.
Back then my Mom had us cleaning out all empty food jars and filling them with water. Also we went to many different grocery stores to buy food to store in the basement.
Even after the crises was over she swore you couldn’t trust the Russians and expected a first strike. Her parents were for eastern Europe.
You are exactly right. If we actually had an unbaised media they would be pointing out to Obama after every time he whines about the “troublesome right wing” that he is friends with truly troublesome people like Ayers.
Anxiety..lol. That's putting it mildly
I have utter contempt for this POS marxist usurper and his cabal.
Thank God this man is on our side.
We love ya, Rush!
Obama is so slick I no longer think he is just a hardcore communist. I think his recent rantings of, he is great and whoever disagrees with him are armagedden believers and nuts; are so ludicrous I think he is blatently evil.
Rush is great, because he states simple truths that we sometimes overlook.
Again, BO goes after the free speech exercise of PRIVATE CITIZENS.
Doesn’t anyone in the Drive By media GET IT?? If Bush were to rip Air America, they’d be all over his ass about the first amendment.
This commie attacks people, and they just ask if he likes to shoot from the perimeter.
Hey zero, where the eff where you from 2000 - 2008? Under a fracking rock? How d@** stupid of you to say something like that.
Right on, Rush. Thank you for your ever vigilant devotion and service to our country, our military and the intent behind the words of our Founding Fathers.
THAT is the good life!
If I had to bet money, I'd wager he's been out of the country planning his escape hatch. I'd imagine he is preparing setting up residency somewhere and finding places to secure his wealth. And I don't blame him, I'd be doing the exact same thing.
7 months for them to jam as much stuff through as they can before they get kicked out of office, if they do.
They can cement their hold on office with some “election reform” and “amnesty”.
We watched “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington”, starring Jimmy Stewart, last night. When the press conflated his first appearance in Congress and published ridiulous pictures of him and storylines, he went out and did what I’d have done...sought out each of them and punched them in the nose.
The Obamamedia has done such a disservice to the American people, it borders on treason in this writer’s opinion. At least their numbers are tanking...but they still dominate the airwaves. We have conservative talk radio and we need to keep it. Thank you Rush.
If you haven’t seen that movie, it’s recommended viewing for all. Some things never change. Until they do.
NOTE WELL: Obama Is Making Plans to Use Executive Power for Action on Several Fronts

In 1944 my grandfather landed on the beach head at Anzio, He volunteered even though as a Mennonite his religion prohibited armed military service.
He left as an outcast from his family and church, he returned as a hero with the three German bullets on a key chain that were removed from various parts of his body.
He said that he did it so that his children and grand children wouldn’t have to.
So now we have the kenyan’s ass parked in the white house and I’m supposed to go along quietly?
.......according to judicial analyst, and judge, Andrew P. Napolitano healthcare reforms amount to "commandeering" the state legislatures for federal purposes, which the Supreme Court has forbidden as unconstitutional. "The Constitution does not authorize the Congress to regulate state governments. Nevertheless, the Congress has told the state governments that they must modify their regulation of certain areas of healthcare, they must surrender their regulation of other areas of healthcare, and they must spend state taxpayer-generated dollars in a way that the Congress wants it done.(Excerpt) Read more at newsmax.com............

The policy issues may be coming to an end, but the legal issues are certain to continue because key provisions of this dangerous legislation are unconstitutional. Legally speaking, this legislation creates a target-rich environment. We will focus on three of its more glaring constitutional defects. (Excerpt) Read more at online.wsj.com ...
States Can Check Washington's Power; by directly proposing constitutional amendments
WSJ 12/21/09 | DAVID B. RIVKIN JR. AND LEE A. CASEY
FR Posted 12/2/09 by rhema
For nearly a hundred years, federal power has expanded at the expense of the statesto a point where the even the wages and hours of state employees are subject to federal control. Basic health and safety regulations that were long exercised by states under their "police power" are now dominated by Washington.
The courts have similarly distorted the Constitution by inventing new constitutional rights and failing to limit governmental power as provided for in the document. The aggrandizement of judicial power has been a particularly vexing challenge, since it is inherently incapable of correction through the normal political channels.
There is a way to deter further constitutional mischief from Congress and the federal courts, and restore some semblance of the proper federal-state balance. That is to give to statesand through them the peoplea greater role in the constitutional amendment process.
The idea is simple, and is already being mooted in conservative legal circles. Today, only Congress can propose constitutional amendmentsand Congress of course has little interest in proposing limits on its own power. Since the mid-19th century, no amendment has actually limited federal authority.
But what if a number of states, acting together, also could propose amendments? That has the potential to reinvigorate the states as a check on federal power. It could also return states to a more central policy-making role.
The Framers would have approved the idea of giving states a more direct role in the amendment process. They fully expected that the possibility of amendments originating with the states would deter federal aggrandizement, and provided in Article V that Congress must call a convention to consider amendments anytime two-thirds of the states demand it.(Excerpt) Read more at online.wsj.com ...

People don't need Rush to get them pissed off. They just need eyes, ears and a bit of common sense. These idiots will soon have a large group of unemployed and very angry people who feel that their voices are not being heard through peaceful protests. They will not simply go away.
What 0bama calls “vitriol” used to be called “The Spirit of 1776”.
“synchronization and integration of State and Federal military activities in the United States”
one of the purposes being to further blur any distinction between the states’ police power snd fed pre-emption.
I think we are going to have to cart out the good reverend again in 2012. We can show some choice excerpts, and use as a tagline a variation on your post: "Well, what did you expect of a man who listened to this for 5 years?".
It would be a variation on Reagan's "are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?" line.
What Obama's DHS and MSM lapdogs calls "right wing extremists" used to be called Patriots...
Personally the Nov elections are not going to change a thing I’m afraid.
