Paul McCartney plays Miami (praises health care)
Miami Herald ^ | Ben Crandell

An America deeply divided by helter skelter politics and war, the void littered with protest signs, bricks and racial epithets, is nothing new to Paul McCartney. The Beatles provided a soundtrack for a similar era 40 years ago.

As then, the man who sang that "Life is very short, and there's no time for fussing and fighting, my friends" in "We Can Work It Out," is hopeful.

"It's a tough time, of course," McCartney said by phone last week as he motored through Sussex in the south of England. "But things get better.

Senile old BEATLE alert.

This knucklehead married a one-legged gold digger. Nuff said.

More ignorant entertainers. Who really cares what they think outside of music?

Why, oh, why must these singers constantly inflict their political views on a paying audience that is there just for entertainment?

And if British healthcare is soooo great, why do the brits have such bad teeth?

And why should he really care about US health care? He doesn’t even live in this country, nor can he vote here.

Just shut up and sing, Paul. That’s what we pay you for.

Britain already had socialized health care but it’s not Brits like Paul who are paying for it. It’s the middle class who are left to die.

Why do we only the wealthy praise HC? I want to hear from ordinary persons who have used universal HC.

Paul should have listened to George more...

Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman

If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I’ll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet.

Don’t ask me what I want it for
If you don’t want to pay some more
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman
And you’re working for no one but me.

Paul's first wife came to the bad ole USA to receive treatments for her cancer. Granted she was a US citizen, but she lived in England for decades and didn't stick around England for care.

Also, when George Harrison was diagnosed with cancer he sought treatment at private clinics in Switzerland and Italy as well.

No English paradise healthcare sought in either case. Hmmm...

You got it my friend. I sure if Paul gets sick he won’t hit a facility in England.

More evidence that Ringo was and still is the best Beatle.

Artists by and large are liberal. My beloved Geddy Lee of RUSH said in an interview that it was a great sign for good that Obama was elected, blah-blah-blah. I guess the anti-Utopian lyrics he’s been singing all these years made no impression on him because Obama is closer to the villains in their music than Bush ever was.
