Yep. Rudy would have been the better candidate. He’s capable of outwitting and demolishing Obama’s glibness.

Crist’s endorsement gave McCain Florida & the nomination (though most people here wouldn’t have been happier with Rudy or Mitt)

I'd be slightly happier.

I don't like Rudy's politics. With McCain and Mitt, I don't like their politics or care for them as people.

This here sounds like pure paybacks.

Plus, Rudy would have actually campaigned, unlike McChump

Rudy Giuliani did run against John McCain for the nomination and he sucked and McCain, Huckabee, and Romney wiped the floor with him.

“Plus, Rudy would have actually campaigned, unlike McChump, who was unwilling to attack Obama.”

Rudi ran in 2008?

I musta missed it. (I thought he, Thompson and McCain were all on the four day workweek campaign schedule)

Marco Rubio has won his race. Crist is toast.

I don't know if McLame is actually on the Soros payroll, but he might as well be.

I would have preferred either Rudi or Romney as the standard bearer in 2008. At least, we would have not had them potentially running in 2012.

“there would have been massive numbers of Republican voters casting votes for third-party candidates on Election Day”

That kind of stupidity is why we ended up with Obama in the first place.

Bravo to all those who sat 2008 out.

Not kidding. At least Rudy would have tried to win, unlike McLame.

But since folks like you wouldn’t have voted for him, Obama would have won anyway, I guess.

Primaries are very different than elections. Rudy was unable to win the GOP nomination, but I think he would have presented a better, more coherent candidate than McCain did, thus making the election more competetive.

I will never forgive Crist for his endorsement of McCain- our state went nuts when he did it and fools by the dozen lined up to vote for McCain.

I’d rather have had either Rudy OR Mitt. McCain was the worst candidate ever- including Bob Dole.

I find it hard to imagine a republican candidate that can’t even make a respectable showing among a collection of the weakest candidates possible in a presidential primary, that if they all died and he got to run against the actual winner of the hard fought Democrat primary that the Rep would suddenly turn into a wonderful campaigner and sweep the national voters off their feet.

That kind of loser would not win the election and he would wipe out the ticket, all the way down the list as Republicans remained indifferent and staying home.

Why would you even fantasize about a candidate that is too liberal to make a showing in a Republican primary, winning the nomination anyway?
