The legislative wrangling over the health care reform bill that became law last week has not translated into improved poll ratings for any of the principal participants.
In the latest CBS News Poll, 44 percent approve of how President Obama is handling his job, down from 49 percent in a poll taken just before the health care bill passed in the House of Representatives. Mr. Obama received a 41 percent disapproval rating in both surveys.
The public is particularly unhappy with Mr. Obamas management of health care. Only a third, 34 percent, approve of the presidents handling of health care, down from 41 percent before the health care bill passed. Fifty-five_percent disapprove, including a majority of Republicans and independents. While most Democrats approve of how Mr. Obama is handling health care, almost a third disapprove.
Other recent national polls have given the president higher marks for his job handling. In the Gallup tracking poll based on interviews conducted March 30 through April 1, 50 percent approve of Mr. Obama and 43 percent disapprove.
The publics impression of both Democratic Congressional leaders Representative Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House, and Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader of the Senate has become increasingly negative. According to the latest USA Today/Gallup poll, Mr. Reid is better known since the last time Gallup asked about him in November 2008. His favorable rating is now 29 percent, basically unchanged from the earlier poll when 27 percent had a favorable view. But his negative number has increased from 30 percent in 2008 to 45 percent in the latest poll.
Ms. Pelosi is viewed favorably by 36 percent and unfavorably by 54 percent. Both numbers are up slightly from Gallups last reading in July 2009, when 32 percent were favorable and 48 percent unfavorable.(continued)

Duh!!!! Try listening to the people!!! Oh, that’s right, we aren’t bright enough to figure it out....
NYT tellin’ the TRUTH ping!
I don’t know about the polls, I think it will help us get the Dems with a POLE...
I fully expected the Democrats to get a bounce from this. We’ll have to see if these numbers hold up over the next couple months, but it’s interesting.
The real poll was last Friday in FL by Mason Dixon of Floridians. The state is a key state and it is not totally old people. Fl has a lot of seniors but has a mix of people.
25% of seniors approved ObamaCare.
34% of Floridians supported (all ages).
Floridians hate it.
Also it destroyed Alex Sink’s chances to win the gov race for the Dems and is a total wipe out for idiot Dem Bill Nelson who is up for election in 2012. If he ran in 2010 - he would get vaporized by Rubio, Jeb and even Crist and people in FL think Crist is a a*s clown now.
Sink went from 6 down to 15 down in about a week due to ObamaCare. A yellow dog with an R after it’s name could beat Bill Nelson. The Labrador would also be 10x smarter.
They're scared of us Tea ba -er- Partiers!
Uh, wouldn't it be more accurate to say it is hurting Democrats?
Which is why....
“One week after it passed, 54% favor repeal of the Presidents health care plan.”
I can’t even trust a CBS poll - these Rasmussen polls are better eatin’
25% of seniors in Florida supported it (Mason Dixon last Friday ie a real poll).
People in Florida HATE ObamaCare.
“Only a third, 34 percent, approve of the presidents handling of health care”
Code Pink, Al Sharpton, Michael Moore, Acorn, Daily KOS and Revs Wright and Jacksons followers.
Its undocumented antihelpfullness.
>> 25% of seniors approved ObamaCare.
And if I remember correctly, seniors tend to get out and VOTE. That would include the SEVENTY-FIVE percent who DON’T approve of Bambi’s DeathCare.
It’s going to be a bloody November for the dems....Good!!!
And the ironic thing about it is that many of us read lots and lots of the bill in its very iterations and pretty clearly no democrat did, including Ozero. They memorize talking points that bear no relation to reality and are upset when called on it.
Our legislative process is corrupt beyond belief.
