49 BC is coming back at us again. For the uninformed, that is when Julius Caesar began a Civil War that ended with him declaring himself Dictator for Life.

Remind me: How did that work out for him?

I’ve been thinking a lot about “It Can’t Happen Here” - I think it’s time to reread it.

LOL! -- I refuse to answer that for fear I will be accused of causing a violent coup d'etat.

I firmy beleive that many members (and their families) of both the Senate and House have been threatened by violence or worse.

I agree that our situation is too close to the late Roman republic than is comfortable, but Barack Hussein Obama is not fit to carry Gaius Julius Caesar’s subligaculum.

Caesar was personally brave, fought for his country, was militarily competent, won trials as an attorney, could balance a budget, wrote his own books and was without question a citizen.

Also good: “The Arrogant History of White Ben,” by Clemence Dane. Written in the 1930’s, a story of a scarecrow that comes to life, gets elected dictator, demonizes crows.
