LAREDO, Texas Investigators say the 36-year-old man shot to death by a Border Patrol agent on the banks of the Rio Grande had a long history of illegal entry and was found as recently as January with drugs.
Laredo police spokesman Joe Baeza said Victor Hugo de la Cruz was deported at least five times previously before he was confronted by a Border Patrol agent Wednesday night.

Just an illegal bringing in drugs and gang warfare.
You know, “doing the jobs Americans won’t do”.
Lindsey Graham would like to have offered him free health care via the U.S. taxpayer. Oh, and amnesty, too.
You invade our country — with an army or one at a time — WE SHOOT TO KILL.
Illegal immigration problem solved.
“Cruz was deported at least five times previously”
So long SCUM!
“AHHHH, there’s good news tonite!” Several thousand Americans posted on the border and a $100 bounty on illegals. Well I can dream, can’t I?
So these BP agents go on trial for murder when?
Mizz Lyndsey would have lifted his skirt for the guy. It’s a lonely job, now that his life partner John has to pretend he’s a conservative...
Nice shooting Officer. Finally an agent doing what they get paid to do. This is one illegal that wont have to be deported again.
BANG! Down goes another scumbag.
(If that line looks familiar it’s because I use it for ALL cases like this, and for “homeowner kills intruder” stories. You know...the happy stories.)
What a shame! One more illegal entry and de la Cruz would have been eligible for his “Big Sis” merit badge.
Somehow the news reports simply forget to mention that in the fight, the illegal was able to take away the Agent’s baton and attack the Agent with it. The Agent had no choice but to shoot.
I was just there in Laredo a week ago. Great Mexican food.
