David Cuthbertson, special agent in charge of the FBI's El Paso division, said the paramilitary-style gang has an "open policy" to kill its rivals and may turn its sights toward local law enforcement officers.
Cuthbertson said Barrio Azteca gang members have been found in central Texas towns like Odessa and Midland, as well as in southern Mexico.
"It's not the first time a gang has put a hit out on El Paso police officers," Martin said. "Our guys are very highly trained, so they're pretty well prepared for just about anything. For them to come out and attack a law enforcement officer in the United States would be detrimental to their business."

And I suspect some are already working on the case. Quietly. That is how they deal with "things".
One small but not insignificant difference of being a lawman in a Texas border town, is that with the gun laws, there is always a chance that you will not be as alone as you might have been in Mexico.
If the cop lives long enough to find cover and make it a gun fight, he may receive armed citizen assistance, and with 25 million veterans, it just may be pretty skilled assistance.
I guess a “warning” is about all we can expect from Napolitano. She’s really busy right now going after TEA Party members and other Americans.
That’s a good point. Clinton allowed it in Colombia, though. If such a piece of crap as her could do it, her new bum boy in the White Crib can. ;-)
