A Mexican official says "Survivor" producer Bruce Beresford-Redman is a suspect in his wife's death after reporting her missing in the resort city of Cancun.

The official says the body of Monica Beresford-Redman was found Thursday in a gutter at the swanky Moon Palace resort where they were on a family vacation.

The official at the attorney general's office in Quintana Roo state, where Cancun is located, spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media about the case.

So, did he take his wife's name or what is with the hyphen?

I never heard of him or saw the show, but I remember somebody doing a reality show and said they were getting the best reality guy. Wonder if it was him?

‘Survivor’ producer arrested in wife’s strangulation death
April 8, 2010 | 10:54 am

Before the arrest, Carla Burgos, Beresford-Redman’s sister, told KCAL that her family could not understand why she went missing.

“We’re really lost. It’s like a really big mystery,” Burgos told the station.

Monica Beresford-Redman is the owner of Zabumba Bar & Restaurant in Venice. The restaurant is known for serving Brazilian specialties like tri-tip steak and for hosting lively salsa, reggae and bossa nova nights.

Her husband is a veteran TV producer who has been nominated for three Emmy Awards. Besides “Survivor,” he worked on “Pimp My Ride” and “The Restaurant.”

Media reports in Mexico said that Monica Beresford-Redman had been strangled.

I’m wondering what happens next. If there is sufficient evidence, will he get tried in Quintana Roo? How much will pals in the US pester and cry for him to be tried here.

If he is found guilty, does he go to jail in Quintana Roo?

I just read that the state prosecutor believes the husband killed her: “The husband seems to be responsible”, he said. Oh, and appears a witness said they argued on Sunday.

Really, Bruce should have no problem in getting sprung from that south-of-the-border hoosgow where he now resides. His rich uncle, John Beresford-Tipton, can simply dispatch Michael Anthony to bribe the Mexican officials.
