Kentucky Third Parties Clear the Way for Rand Paul
Independent Political Report ^ | April 5th, 2010 | Independent Political Report

Posted on 04/08/2010 2:01:58 PM PDT by Christian_Capitalist

The Libertarian Party of Kentucky recently held its nominating convention for 2010 elections and failed to nominate a candidate for Senate. Similarly, the Constitution Party of Kentucky is rumored to be avoiding the Senate race ostensibly because of Rand Paul’s presence in that race. Rand Paul, a Republican candidate for the open U.S. Senate seat in Kentucky is currently ahead in polling by double digits and is largely considered the frontrunner. Rand Paul is the son of Congressman and former Libertarian Party Presidential candidate Ron Paul.

K. Joshua Koch, vice chair of the Kentucky Libertarian Party, was an early supporter of the younger Paul’s run for Senate. George Whitfield, one of the organizers of the Libertarian Party meetups in Kentucky, was also an early supporter and made a donation to Rand Paul’s exploratory committee.

Chuck Baldwin, the Constitution Party’s 2008 Presidential nominee, has had good things to say about Rand Paul too, calling him a “sincere conservative-libertarian”, in contrast to “Big Government neocon” John McCain.

Rand Paul is considered a friend to ballot-access reformers according to Richard Winger, editor of Ballot Access News. He is well-educated on the unjustness of current ballot access laws.

need to run as Libertarians and get out of the Republican Party.

But...but...whenever when libertarians do this, they get blamed when Republicans lose.

You can't have it both ways.

Neither. I disagree with cut and run when he blames America, and not the terrorists for 9/11.

The idea that libertarians should run as who they are rather than as fraudulent Republicans is laughable to you because of the typical libertarian lack of ethics.

Again though, you have no right to complain when Republicans lose close elections because of the Libertarian vote. If liberal RINOs can run as Republicans, then so can libertarians.

Grayson has been steadily gaining in polls and racking up prestigious endorsements.

McConnell and various other GOP Washington beltway hacks are not "prestigious" endorsements.

And, as for "crushing the Democrats," that is not what libertarians do. You only aid their endeavors.

Who do you think the Tea Parties are made up of? Small gov't, fiscal-conservative libertarians. They're out there fighting the Dems and socialist agenda. I don't see religious busybodies or RINOs on the front lines.

Hey, you paid n00b shill, Grayson supported him as a 21-year old college student in 1992, NOT as an elected official. Trey Grayson has ALWAYS held office as a loyal Conservative Republican who supports Republicans. Your TRUTHER-supported candidate voted AGAINST the REAGAN-Republican agenda when he supported his daddy’s Presidential run.

Horsecrap. Put up Paulbot loons and you’ll lose two-three votes for every vote you gain. Want to be a Libertarian ? Run under their label.

Ah, but Ron Paul does no such thing.

So, I guess it is fair to say that you, JohnD, do agree with Ron Paul that "only a fool would place the moral responsibility for terrorism on anyone other than the terrorists themselves".

More horsecrap. He wouldn’t register a blip on the radar screen without his last name and his daddy’s fundraising network of cult-like followers.

Yeah, yeah, whatever.

Just try to convince ANYONE that Trey Grayson is "a 21-year old college student" in the photo posted above, or that it was taken in 1992.

Nobody's buying your lies. Trey Grayson is a Bill Clinton-loving RINO.

All you lie-bertarians are good at is swarming the internet: the blogs, the polls, etcetera. You have no core beliefs, as attested by the Libertarian Party platform, and only serve to disrupt. Anarchy, fun and games, infiltration, to hell with the country. Your icon Ron Paul has accomplished NOTHING in his tenure in Congress and he’s a traitor to boot.

I'm not lying about Trey Grayson being a Bill Clinton-loving RINO, and you know it.

No way that you can manage to convince anyone that the photo in #13 was taken in 1992, or that Trey Grayson was 21 in the picture. No-one's buying your RINO-supporting lies; they can see with their own eyes that Trey Grayson is Billy Jeff Clinton's darling baby boy, politically speaking.

Cut and run says many things, like being against earmarks, but takes every one he can get his hands on. He says he is against abortion, but defends taking a minor across state lines in order to get one. Can anybody believe anything he says? I can't.

I don’t think there are write-ins for KY primaries, are there? Sounds like Paul would be better than Grayson, for Paul will stir up the base, but the base may be too small to prevail. People in KY don’t like to take chances.

Funny, but Rand Paul is, in terms of his political support, currently the preferred choice of Kentucky Republicans: Rand Paul leads Trey Grayson 42% to 27% amongst Kentucky Republicans.

Trey Grayson is leading amonst only ONE group of Republicans: "Republican Voters who don't own Guns".

So I guess that Grayson is winning the "Please don't hurt me" Defenseless Sheeple vote, and Rand Paul is winning amongst all the other groups of Republicans.

And, by the way, let's ask YOU to answer this thread's political quiz:

Just outta curiosity:

Well, which is it, La Enchiladita? Let us know where you stand.

I would imagine that the 27 percent is the McConnell base there. But McC won’t take chances.

Your RLC standard issue spam reminds me of the pre-printed “protest” signs used by MoveOn and CodePink, as well as the purple SEIU t-shirts.... but then it all comes from the same source: SOROS.
